From a yard without a two-year-old winner this year despite 20+ attempts and is a half-brother to several winners including the useful 6f winner Roker Park who won over 5f as a juvenile. Best left watched here though on debut given the form of the yard this year.
Trainer is 0/10 with juveniles this year and this one was very easy to back on his debut at Newbury over 6f although he did make the running for much of the way and may have needed the run. Wouldn't be a big surprise to see him run well here given the pace he showed on debut back over 5f.
Stable have been in good form of late and are ticking along quite well with their two-year-olds. This one has had plenty of experience so far with the three runs and has shown improved form from his debut on his last two runs over 6f. Might be suited by this drop to 5f having shown some good speed although he could be better drawn here.
Cost €13,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to a winner at up to 1m2f Lord Of Westbury with the dam being and an unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 7f Tagula. Yard yet to have a two-year-old winner this season and he might just need a little further.
Cost £18,000 at the Breeze-Ups in April with the yard having had a better time with their juveniles of late. May be best watched on debut though.
Only a cheap yearling who looked to badly need the experience on debut when finishing last of four at Yarmouth over 5f and will need to show more to take a hand here.
Debut looked quite promising having finished 4th over C&D on debut doing best of those making their initial outing in the race. Failed to progress returned to C&D last time out and hard to know what to expect here given that last run.
Progressed from her debut although not by much when third at Hamilton last time out at Hamilton over 5f showing that she could handle some give in the ground. Open to some further improvement on her third start.
The only juvenile runner so far for this yard this year she was very green on her debut when well held over C&D on firm going on her debut. Beat just one home last time making little impression and looking one for the future overall.
Forecasts
Arcavallo (5/4), Choosey (2/1), Lina's Star (15/2), Biddy Brady (14/1), Fortunate Vision (20/1), Ben My Chree (20/1), Racing Radio (20/1), Aislin Moon (25/1), Canford's Joy (50/1)
With none of the debutantes making any particular appeal it may well be best to concentrate on those with experience here. Choosey showed plenty of pace of his debut and is nicely drawn here to attack in stall 2 back over 5f with Lina’s Star another who could improve on her form so far and she has shown she can handle cut in the ground. Ben My Chree could be given another chance based on her promising debut with ARCAVALLO being picked overall. The Dods yard are in good form at the moment and this speedy sort could well be suited by this drop to 5f although the wide draw does leave a slight doubt in the mind about his chance.
- Arcavallo
- Choosey
- Lina's Star
