Already a Listed winner this season at Goodwood (1m4f, good to firm) in May and ran a cracker in a Group Two at Haydock last time (1m4f, good to firm), when beaten just over 1L. Sets the standard here and well worth a try back over this trip. Probably wouldn't want the ground to turn genuinely soft.

At her best when there is some cut in the ground and a former French Group Three winner when with Francois Doumen. That was over 1m1f and she has yet to prove herself over this far, though pedigree gives plenty of hope she will see it out. Interesting on her first outing for this stable.

Won twice over this sort of trip last season and was raised 11lb for the second one, her handicap debut at Newbury (good to soft). Has been kept to this grade in all three starts this season, earning some black type at Nottingham in May. Needs to improve to win, but first-time cheekpieces might help her to be in and among tonight.

Well placed to win four of her six starts, including a staying-on success at Newmarket (1m1f, good to firm) on her seasonal return in May. Finished over 2L behind Entsar in this grade at Nottingham last time (1m2f, good), but couldn't be dismissed just because of that and can probably do a fair bit better.

Won over this trip at Sandown in August (good to soft) and picked up some black type at Newmarket in the autumn. Yet to reach the latter level in two starts this term and didn't appear to get Pontefract's stiff 1m4f last time, so drop to this trip looks positive. Improvement needed to figure.

Won a Listed race in France last year (1m2f, good) and also made the frame in a Group Three across the channel (1m2½f, heavy). Put in another very respectable effort back over there in Group Two company on her sole outing this term and looks one to fear if taking her on back in this grade. Claims.

Both her wins have been over 1m, but with just one attempt over this far she is unexposed at the trip. Runner-up in this company at Ayr in May on her only previous try, but will need improvement to fill that runner-up berth again in what looks a stronger race.

Won a Nottingham maiden over this trip last season when with Luca Cumani, but has not yet added to that success. Nonetheless, she has run well in all three starts at Listed level for this yard in 2017, her best effort being last time at Newcastle. Is going to need to step up again to win this, but you couldn't rule her out of the prize money.

At her best on good or softer ground, so she should be at home in the conditions here and she has already won over this trip at Haydock this season. Found the King George V Stakes too hot at Royal Ascot last time and, while she may be better than that, this is another hot enough race and others are preferred.

Forecasts

Playful Sound (7/2), Ajman Princess (4/1), Rosental (9/2), Aim To Please (9/2), Entsar (7/1), Very Dashing (8/1), Singyoursong (8/1), Dragon Fei (14/1), Reachforthestars (16/1), Pure Art (20/1), Sophie P (25/1)

Verdict

ROSENTAL has been doing well in Listed and Group company in France and won't mind however much it rains on the Knavesmire, so Luca Cumani's charge is given the vote here ahead of Ajman Princess and Aim To Please, who can both go close. Playful Sound looks another potential player here, while Singyoursong is one for each-way players.
