Very promising type who didn't really have to improve at all on his debut to take a maiden at Ayr last time out when a long odds-on shot. Looks as though this step up to 1m4f will suit him and a mark of 88 doesn't look beyond him on his handicap debut.

Won a Yarmouth maiden on his debut and still holds a St Leger entry as he makes his second start in a handicap. Wasn't seen to best effect on his debut (still looked to be learning) and remains with lots of potential although this mark looks stiff enough.

Had looked the type to show more in handicaps having shown steady improvement in three maidens on turf/AW. Gelded for his handicap debut and expected to be suited by the longer trip he failed to improve although he may have needed the outing after a break but he faces some strong contenders here.

His Kempton Park win on the AW showed a step forward from his debut also on the AW although he still looked as though he had a little to learn. Showed a good attitude though and now steps into handicaps for the first time with his winning form having worked out well.

Verdict

Not a deep race in terms of numbers but it is in terms of quality with most of these capable of winning a handicap. POUVOIR MAGIQUE has only run twice but looks well treated here on his handicap debut with the 1m4f trip also being in his favour. The Grand Visir and Petitioner both have plenty to recommend them and will make this a tough contest to win and should be respected. Duke Of Bronte isn’t a certain runner here while Sable Island isn’t totally out of this although he does have a little bit to do here in relation to his rivals.
  1. Pouvoir Magique
  2. The Grand Visir
  3. Petitioner
