Course winner over a furlong shorter her last win came under today's rider at Windsor last August on better going than this but she can operate with cut in the ground. Showed that when second over 1m4f at the end of last season and ran well on her reappearance on the AW in June over shorter.

Only win came on the AW at Kempton off a mark of 62 over 1m3f and ran well on his first two starts this year at Goodwood and Newbury. On the latter occasion he shaped well on soft ground and looked as though he can improve although he ran poorly last time and needs to bounce back from that run here.

Has what looks to be an excellent Flat record (11/51) but all those wins have come on the AW although he did run a sound race in a turf handicap last time out on his first run for the yard. Only beaten by one that is thriving at Doncaster last time out and despite his turf record is hard to leave out of the equation here off a workable mark.

Has been mixing hurdling with his Flat runs without looking a winner waiting to happen and showed very little on his first run for this yard over a shorter trip here. Failed to make much impression over hurdles last time out although despite that lack of form he's sure to attract attention in the market due to the jockey booking.

Consistent sort who deserves full marks for his consistency but does looks very hard to win with overall with his last Flat win coming back in 2013. Not certain to stay this trip either and others have a better chance here.

Didn't really show much when last seen on the Flat at the backend of the season and just looked to be ticking over. Did show a bit of promise over hurdles in his recent runs but has something to find here.

Stepped up significantly in trip having run here over 1m2f last time out and has an extra 3f to travel here having won on the AW the time over further taking advantage of a lower mark. Still shaped as though he was in form and may well be a bit better than his turf form implies off a mark of 63.

Very lightly raced sort who makes his handicap debut here and is the only three-year-old in the field. Given just one run this year on the Fibresand at Southwell in a 1m3f maiden and very much looked as though he was being brought along with handicaps in mind. Remains very much open to improvement going handicapping with the distance expected to suit.

Form only looks very modest at best and he's been below even that of late although there was a little more zip in his last run. Overall though doesn't have enough to recommend him here.

Forecasts

Meyandi (5/2), Luv U Whatever (4/1), Take Two (7/1), Art Of Swing (7/1), Jersey Jewel (7/1), Firestorm (10/1), Manny Owens (14/1), Elusive Cowboy (16/1), Party Royal (18/1)

Verdict

Quite a competitive opener with the amateurs getting their chance and the booking of Simon Walker means that Elusive Cowboy will be popular. Take Two is consistent but hard to win with while for all he ran well on turf last time Luv U Whatever has still to win on this surface. Party Royal looks to be one who should be looked at off this mark but its MEYANDI who takes the eye on his handicap debut with the trip expected to suit.
  1. Meyandi
  2. Party Royal
  3. Luv U Whatever
