Won twice last year, both wins coming with cut in the ground. Return to softer conditions likely to be in his favour and back on his last winning mark but can race keenly and needs to settle better if he is to run well.

Placed on each of his first five starts but he remains a maiden and he's been badly out of form on both his starts this year, failing to beat a rival home on each occasion. Switch of yard and first-time tongue-tie need to see him improve.

Appears to be something of a Brighton specialist, with all six wins coming at that course but not quite at his best there off his revised mark in a couple of starts since and well beaten at Newbury last time. Worked his way back down to a more realistic mark but has a bit to prove after a couple of below par runs.

Just one win from 25 starts and usually shows his best on the AW. Has been ruining his chances with slow starts of late but the step back up in trip is a positive and he still looks on a fair mark if he can get away on terms.

Has returned in the form of her life this season recording form figures of 11313. Appreciates cut in the ground but there were signs the handicapper had caught up with her last time and perhaps best watched for now.

Losing run now up to 19 after finishing well beaten at Wolverhampton last time out. Only turf win in 28 turf starts did come at this course but he's been more consistent on the AW in his career. Down to a career low mark now but gives the impression he wants firmer ground when it comes to turf and looks opposable here.

Sole win was in a Leicester seller in May, though he was beaten just ½L in a Nottingham handicap next time. 3lb rise since his latest effort in a claimer suggests that even if he maintains recent consistency, a place in the frame might be the best he can hope for.

Not managed to win on turf since 2012 and well beaten on three recent starts on the AW. Step back up in trip looks in his favour but handicap mark looks stiff on his more recent turf efforts.

Not won for over two years now and has been struggling to get away on terms in recent starts. Perhaps getting a little long in the tooth now but he did win over C&D earlier in his career and he may come on for his most recent run at Newbury. Interesting runner.

Still a maiden after 20 starts and only placed once on turf. Looks up against it and can break slowly so he's relying on first-time cheekpieces bringing about plenty of improvement.

Forecasts

Sir Jack (3/1), Miss Inga Sock (7/2), Archimento (9/2), Pack It In (6/1), Jack Of Diamonds (8/1), The Gay Cavalier (17/2), Roy Rocket (20/1), Embankment (33/1), Breakheart (40/1), Hong Kong Joe (66/1)

Verdict

Miss Inga Sock has been in excellent form this season and looks capable of giving another good account while Sir Jack has been a model of consistency and should run well. However, it may be worth taking a chance on BREAKHEART. The veteran has a course and distance win to his name earlier in his career and he's well handicapped if he can bounce back to form.
  1. Breakheart
  2. Miss Inga Sock
  3. Sir Jack
