Like all of this field she makes her handicap debut here after winning a valuable seller at York over 6f in June showing much more than she had previously. Ran a little free in his one subsequent start in a fillies' novice event at Carlisle over 7f with her pedigree suggesting she should be suited by this trip.

His one outing on turf has been his worst so far that run being sandwiched between two third places on the Aw at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. Now tries 7f for the first time for a stable do well with their juveniles and run two here but the turf outing so far leaves doubts about this one.

Best of three efforts so far cam on his second run at Thirsk when fourth over 6f (good to soft) but failed to build on that run next time under similar conditions at Hamilton. Should be capable of better but his stable are rather struggling at the moment and is best watched here.

Stable have a shocking record with nursery debutantes and this one despite being the most experienced here does look rather exposed and vulnerable to an improver. Returned to some sort of form last time out but hasn't tried this trip before and is probably best watched here.

From a yard that are having a good season with their two-year-olds although this one in four starts so far has proved to be a little inconsistent. Certainly ran below form at Redcar last time out and now steps up to 7f for the first time although it's not unknown for the yard's horses to bounce back from a poor run quickly.

The second contender from this yard who looks a modest performer having been campaigned in sellers on his last three starts winning one over this trip at Redcar on his penultimate outing. Ran with credit in the same sphere last time out without looking to have more to offer although he gets weight from all bar one of his rivals here.

Form so far looks rather modest with his best run having come on his debut where he looked to offer something to work on having raced against a pair with experience. Not gone on from that run at all though and disappointed last time out and hopes pinned on the trip and a move into handicaps.

Forecasts

Seaella (2/1), Go Now Go Now (7/2), Crownthorpe (9/2), Faradays Spark (5/1), Felisa (8/1), Aristodemus (12/1), Situation (33/1)

Verdict

None of the seven that go to post here look to be particularly ahead of the handicapper with previous winning form thin on the ground. Mark Johnston has won this race for the past two years and his Go Now Go Now can be given a chance on some of his form. Richard Fahey runs a couple in this with Faradays Spark looking the best of his duo over Crownthorpe who looks better on the AW at the moment. None of the others apart from York seller winner SEAELLA appeal that much and despite top weight she’s given the vote to make a winning handicap debut.
  1. Seaella
  2. Faradays Spark
  3. Go Now Go Now
