Stable are yet to have a two-year-old winner this year (0/7) let alone a debutante one. Cost €10,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to 7f winner Espresso Freddo with the dam being a half-sister to the very smart 6f winner Magical Memory.

Stable have been struggling for winners overall this season and are 0/21 with their two-year-olds so far. He improved a little from his debut last time but hardly looks progressive and reverting to 6f hardly looks an obvious step.

Half-brother to several winners including one for the yard in Whatsthemessage who won for them as a juvenile over 7f. Slow away and looked to be in need of the experience when finishing last of five on debut at Hamilton over 5f and should know more here with the step up to 6f expected to suit.

The most experienced of these in the field taking the runner-up spot on his last two starts (in a nursery for the second one) and really failing to improve on what he had done so far in first-time cheekpieces. Back into novice company his time around and back to 6f this looks easier but he could be starting to run out of chances now.

Just the one start so far to his name and that came at Bath over a similar trip where he looked very green for his debut and got outpaced. Might do better with that experience under his belt but may need further and has an awkward draw this time around on the wide outside.

Trainer already has 33 two-year-old winners on the board this year and this one's price rose by some €33,000 from a foal to a two-year-old. By Zebedee he's the third foal of a dam who was a two-year-old 6f winner and is expected to go well on his debut from a decent draw.

Stable are not really known for their Flat runners being a jumps based yard and are 0/5 with their juveniles this year. Doesn't really have a pedigree that screams pace with the dam a maiden who stayed 2m and best watched here.
The second representative in this from this yard but has shown very little so far and been well held in a couple of 6f events and looks to need some time and distance.
Debutante that cost €100,000 as a yearling by Dark Angel who is a sister to the 6f winner Parys Mountain. Dam only ran twice but is related to the smart juvenile 7f winner Belle Genius. Judged on her pedigree she should be able to take a hand if ready to go first time up.

Only ran a very modest race on her first outing over 6f on ground with some give at Doncaster and gave the impression that she'll be better in time and makes only limited appeal here.

Forecasts

Star Of Zaam (11/10), Sunbreak (11/4), Northern Angel (8/1), The Auld Hoose (9/1), Optimickstickhill (20/1), Ladycammyofclare (20/1), Duke Of Freedom (33/1), Le Gros Serpant (33/1), By Royal Approval (40/1), Arabellas Fortune (40/1)

Verdict

Not a huge amount of depth in this contest and despite STAR OF ZAAM starting to look a little disappointing he could well put his experience to good use here and finally get off the mark. Mark Johnston has taken this race for the past two years but and has two representatives in a bid to make it a three-timer with Sunbreak looking the best of the duo despite the wide draw. Of the newcomers The Auld Hoose and Northern Angel look the most interesting if either are ready on their debuts.
  1. Star Of Zaam
  2. Sunbreak
  3. The Auld Hoose
