Put in a couple of promising performances in Ireland when trained by David Wachman but hasn't been able to repeat that level of form since switching to his current yard. Would be a leading contender if able to replicated it now.
Newcastle maiden winner in December (5f, standard), but hasn't shown much since, with his best performance coming in Jersey last time, form which is open to question.
Won a much better race than this at Sandown last July and this seems to be his optimum trip, but he may finally now be regressing in terms of ability on the basis of his performances this year.
Yet to really impress since switching to handicaps but has his sights lowered now in first time cheek pieces and would be on the premises on the basis of his sixth at Wolverhampton last month.
C&D winner who has been a fair sprint handicapper on her day but has been disappointing so far this season and needs a revival now to even be considered for place purposes.
Won at Wolverhampton in April but altogether much more effective on the all-weather recently and hasn't won on the Flat since an Epsom handicap in 2011.
Sprint veteran who is dropped another 2lb having not gotten involved at Carlisle last time out. Has shown he is capable of winning races of this nature on his day, but that day is coming infrequently enough.
No win since late 2015, and though he is now a long way below that winning mark if anything it's a concern he hasn't been able to run to anything like the same level recently.
Has shown next to nothing in four novice/maiden events up to now and is just about impossible to fancy on this handicap debut.
0/20 in her career but has been running better than her form figures suggest recently and no surprise to see her get her head in front sooner rather than later., with this talented apprentice in the saddle for the first time.
Looked for a while like she was about to win a race but form has quickly regressed since and again she has plenty to prove in first time blinkers.
Forecasts
Celerity (5/1), Diminutive (5/1), Royal Normandy (6/1), Captain Scooby (6/1), Secret Asset (6/1), Flying Expectation (7/1), Monsieur Paddy (8/1), Candelaria (9/1), Glam'selle (12/1), Your Gifted (18/1), Bills Delight (33/1)
Very few of these bring recent winning form to the table and in all it looks a very weak affair, but perhaps CELERITY can provide the answer. This filly has yet to get off the mark but has been running some nice races recently and putting in better performances than her form figures suggest, with these often having come at a big price. With top apprentice Hollie Doyle up for the first time, this could be an opportunity for her to record a first career win. Flying Expectation wears first time cheek pieces and would be thereabouts on the form that saw him finish sixth at Wolverhampton last month, while Candelaria would be of interest if bouncing back to the sort of form he showed when trained by David Wachman.
- Celerity
- Flying Expectation
- Candelaria
