Very impressive winner at Newcastle last time out when seemingly unfancied and did that with enough ease to suggest his opening mark could be lenient enough, particularly with more improvement likely. Gets the services of a useful 5lb claimer and no surprise to see him go close again provided the switch from Tapeta to Polytrack doesn't hinder him.
Won a maiden over a mile on debut and bounced back to form with a 33/1 win at Goodwood. Couldn't really back that up at Newmarket last time though and others look more progressive.
Didn't need to improve to win a maiden at short odds last time out but will have to improve to win this contest. Handicap mark looks fair enough and trainer does well with his runners here so should go well provided he proves as effective on AW.
Has looked more effective on AW than she has turf on limited evidence to date and 4lb rise for her latest effort is fair. Possibly more progressive types in here but first-time cheekpieces could see her in a better light. Widest draw of all not ideal though.
Scored on debut for this yard here over 7f and has improved out of sight since joining this trainer. Well beaten on return here last time out and jury's out over how well she gets the mile but worth another chance and should come on for her most recent run.
Winner over the mile at Lingfield to lose his maiden tag but yet to build on that effort and creeping up the weights while not winning. Others have more scope.
Improved for the switch to handicap company at Kempton in April and nearly repeated that success when a narrow runner-up at that course last time out. Hold up better suited to that course though and 4lb rise for not winning looks a little harsh.
Showed plenty of promise on debut and improved again to finish runner-up at Kempton on second start. Not managed to gain a win in three subsequent starts but first win not likely to be far away. Trainer has a fine record with horses in first-time headgear and a 29.82% strike-rate at this course; should go well.
Bounced back to form with a win at Kempton last time out but has to carry 5lb more in a deeper contest this time around and margin of her victory was only narrow. First-time cheekpieces need to improve her.
Forecasts
Mooltazem (2/1), Important Mission (2/1), Cyrus Dallin (8/1), Ourmullion (9/1), Scala Regia (10/1), Badenscoth (12/1), Favourite Royal (16/1), Music Lesson (25/1), Toy Theatre (40/1)
IMPORTANT MISSION was impressive when winning at Newcastle last time out and he could well win again if he takes another step forward. Music Lesson is another unexposed sort and first-time blinkers could see the filly get her first win on the board. It would be no surprise if Mooltazem took a big step forward from his latest win given his connections and he could proved the main danger to the selection.
- Important Mission
- Mooltazem
- Music Lesson
