Looked a nice prospect when winning impressively at Lingfield on debut, quickening well. Holds a Group 2 Lowther Stakes entry and a win here under her penalty might make a run there a possibility.
£42,000 daughter of Lethal Force related to a number of winners. Yard not known for winning debutants, but worth at least a glance in the market for any signs of confidence.
£40,000 filly by Excelebration, closely related to useful Thesme who represented same yard. Stable has few juvenile winners and even fewer first time out, so may benefit from this initial experience.
Has looked green on both starts so far when well beaten at both Haydock and Pontefract. May do better once handicapped and contesting nurseries later in the term.
£45,000 Havana Gold filly whose dams is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Masta Plasta. Nice pedigree and yard can ready one on debut so shouldn't be too far away.
Mayson filly cost just £800 as a yearling but is half-sister to four individual winners. More thans likely to be better for the run and the experience.
40,000 guineas yearling by Poet's Voice out of dam who was placed in listed company. Looks the part on paper and top yard always respected so looks one for the short list.
Connections parted with £40,000 at the Breeze Up sales in the spring. Nibbled at in the market on debut at Doncaster last month but was slowly away and never got into it. May have learned from that and is one of the likelier outsiders.
Clodovil filly who showed pace on debut at Ripon a fortnight ago and finished a respectable third at big odds. Stiff 5f may suit better so should be involved again.
Daughter of Showcasing looked green as grass on debut at Catterick and was well beaten. Much more needed here if she is to figure.
Big Bad Bob filly makes her debut here, out of dam placed in listed company in Italy. Not an obvious candidate unless market indicates otherwise.
Very cheaply bought (£800) daughter of Captain Gerrard out of a 6f winner. Doesn't jump out as a likley debut winner and others catch the eye rather more.
Forecasts
Special Purpose (4/9), Me Before You (4/1), Gold Stone (12/1), Babylon Lane (14/1), Daffy Jane (20/1), Lady Sandy (25/1), Excellent Times (28/1), Lady Grand (33/1), Siena Flyer (40/1), Sitsi (50/1), Show Princess (66/1), Honey Gg (66/1)
Despite having to give away weight all round the promising SPECIAL PURPOSE is a confident choice as long as conditions don't deteriorate. She had the look of a decent sort when scooting in on debut and can take this on the way to better things. Lady Grand has a decent pedigree and her yard can get one ready first time, a comment that applies equally to Gold Stone. Babylon Lane is another possibility. Me Before You showed promise on debut but this may be tougher, while any market interest in Daffy Jane would be worthy of note.
- Special Purpose
- Lady Grand
