Power colt who cost £22,000 as a yearling. Related to a couple of winners and his handler has a better record with juveniles that most smaller trainers. An interesting contender on debut.
Zoffany colt who cost €46,000 as a yearling. Half-brother won over this trip, yard is in fair form and the market may prove informative on his debut.
Foxwedge colt who cost £15,000 as a yearling. A half-brother to Cosmic Ray, a fair winner of 1m, but may show his best in handicaps, as his half-brother did.
Captain Gerrard colt who cost £10,000 as a yearling and whose dam was a fair winner over this trip. One to watch in the market.
Mazameer colt bred for a little further than this, but his half-brother won for the same trainer and it would be no surprise to see him run well on debut.
Has finished last of all in both of her two starts so far, having shown little on either occasion. Cheek pieces reached for now but she needs to take an unfeasibly large step forward.
Beaten 25L into last of nine on debut at Ripon last time out and is impossible to fancy on the basis of that performance.
Not disgraced on debut at Newcastle last time out (7f, standard), but ran a little green and couldn't quite go with the leaders in the closing stages. Probably brings the best previous form into the race, though.
Would have been beaten less than 9L if getting a better start on debut at Ayr last time out (6f, good to soft), and is capable of putting in a more professional performance here with the step up in trip sure to suit.
Forecasts
Tight Lines (5/2), Molly Mayhem (7/2), Echo (7/2), Mydadsared (7/1), Glacier Fox (15/2), Nunnery Lane (16/1), Charming Power (18/1), Lethal Lady (25/1), Hamba Moyo (40/1)
Unlike the first division of this race there are both no stand-outs on previous form and a lot of newcomers, but MOLLY MAYHEM is the tentative suggestion. She shaped with some promise on debut at Newcastle last month, showing some signs of her inexperience but still suggesting she has plenty of ability. If able to come on from that, she looks the one to beat, with Charming Power the newcomer who appeals most on paper, and Tight Lines the other previously-raced contender who looks likely to improve.
- Molly Mayhem
- Charming Power
- Tight Lines
