A winner on debut before disappointing slightly at Leicester last time out when failing to get involved under a penalty. Still has that extra 7lb to contend with here but may find this an easier assignment.
Has run with credit on his two starts to date, including finishing 11L clear of the third when runner-up to a short-priced favourite at York last time out (6f, good to firm). Up in trip, he has to have outstanding claims on that evidence up, especially if he can continue the improvement he showed in between those races.
Much better on his two starts over this trip, and the form from the first of those two races isn't working out that badly, and so he has definite place claims if handling the return to turf.
Beaten 17L into last of 11 on debut at Beverley earlier in the month and needs to leave that performance a long way behind to have a say here.
Never looked dangerous on debut at Ripon last month and ended up finishing last of ten, beaten 27L. Very difficult to build a case for on the basis of that performance.
Seventh on debut in Chester maiden (7f, good to soft) which doesn't look to be the strongest contest on paper. More needed in what looks to be a more challenging assignment.
Ran only to a similar level as his fair debut when fourth at Newcastle last time out (5f, standard). Up to this trip for the first time but needs to show more than he has been to now.
Not disgraced on debut at Carlisle last month (6f, good to soft), when looking outpaced for some of the race. This step up in trip should be a positive, therefore, but he will still need to improve.
Finished tenth at 100/1 in a weak-looking novice auction race at Thirsk on her debut earlier in the month. Has it all to prove following that performance.
Pivotal filly who cost 26,000gns as a yearling. First foal of an unraced dam so little to go on in terms of immediate family but this yard is only 3/60 with its 2yos so far this season.
Forecasts
Arbalet (8/11), Falmouth Light (9/2), Barbarianatthegate (5/1), Knowing Glance (9/1), Tebay (12/1), Jaycols Star (40/1), Crazy World (40/1), Gardinia (40/1), David Fallow (150/1), Angie B (200/1)
This looks to be between ARBALET and Falmouth Light, who may well prove a class apart from the rest of these in time. Slight preference is for Hugo Palmer's running as he is shaped as if this step up in trip should suit the last twice, he was 11L clear of the field when runner-up to a very well-fancied runner at York last time, and he seems progressive. The second-named has to be respected on the basis of his debut run but carries a penalty as a result and seemed to struggle with that extra weight at Sandown last time out. Tebay should enjoy the extra furlong here and can prove to be next best.
