Losses have been stacking up since his C&D success two years ago. Went well at Taunton in April but has underperformed on each start since.
Notched up a hat-trick last summer and now just above her last winning mark. Has won over this trip previously and has shaped recently as though in need of a return to this type of test. Has won here twice previously and of definite interest.
Debut winner in a Stratford bumper he had to wait for switch to handicap hurdles before winning again and doing so in smooth fashion off a mark of 106. Open to further improvement over this trip and recent rain has aided his cause.
Suited by a long trip on soft ground and recent rain will be raising hopes. Winner in bad ground at Chepstow but let down by his jumping last time.
Veteran that's won his share over the years, and showed he still has a bit to offer when winning a couple of point-to-points this spring. Trip and ground are fine so one for the shortlist.
Winner of a couple of races for Mark Walford last season but has lost his way more recently. Pulled up on his last two starts and hard to recommend as a result.
Previous form shows he handles the ground and acts on the course. Has work to do judged on latest form under rules but he did land a point-to-point on his last outing.
Showed he possesses ability in point-to-points but latest form under rules has been abysmal. Steps into handicap company and up in trip but hard to see that making enough of a difference.

Forecasts
Sutter's Mill (5/4), Sam Noir (2/1), Brave Helios (6/1), Kentford Heiress (10/1), Archie Rice (10/1), Decimus (11/1), Superman De La Rue (16/1), Backoftherock (25/1), Bankhall (25/1)
Many of these arrive out of form and it would be expected that the winner comes from SAM NOIR, Sutter Mill or Kentford Heiress. The latter landed a hat-trick last summer and is now more reasonably treated. She has been running over shorter lately and the return to this marathon distance gives her a chance to shine. Sutter Mill will appreciate the rain which has appeared locally in the last couple of days. He will need to jump better than was the case last time but he is the one to beat. SAM NOIR has the services of a good 10lb claimer and he is another who is expected to do better over this trip. He is just 3lb higher than his latest success and as a young horse, who has been well supported in each of his starts since, there is the promise of more to come.
- Sam Noir
- Sutter's Mill
- Kentford Heiress
