Stays 2m½f and has won twice over that trip at Newcastle (AW). Stayed on well to be ½L runner-up over 1m2f (good) at Newmarket on his reappearance earlier in the month and that was very encouraging given that this is much more his trip. Up 2lb but should give a very good account.
Recorded all three of his wins in 2015 and over 1m2f. Best on fast ground and has run a number of good races in defeats since those successes, but just can't quite find that extra something near the post. Stamina looks a further potential issue today.
Scored over this trip at Nottingham in May (good to firm) and probably wasn't suited by slower ground over 2m½f at York next time. Dropped back to this trip on the Knavesmire last time, he was beaten just 1¼L from this mark and with that winner having followed-up, there is hope that he can have a big say again today.
Has been in superb form of late, winning three of his last four starts, including over C&D (soft) in June. Has also won here on both good and good to firm, so shouldn't mind what conditions are come the 'off' and a 2lb rise for his latest Chester win looks very fair. Strong claims.
Thorough stayer who relishes fast ground on turf where all of his five wins have been over at least 2m. Has scored over this trip on AW a couple of years ago and spreadeagled his field at Doncaster last time to win by 7L. Up 6lb for that, which recent evidence suggests while present him with a stiff challenge in this grade.
Stays 2m½f and also scored at Doncaster over 1m4f in April when 3lb lower. Held from marks in the 70s since then and had 4L to find with Zenafire on their running at Chester last time. 3lb better off with that opponent but still not easy to see him turning the tables.

Stamford Raffles put up a really good effort over shorter on his return at Newmarket and can again go close now back over this more suitable trip, while Zenafire and On Fire can turn up the heat in this contest, both arriving with decent claims in a competitive event. Sparte Quercus is very interesting, although not certain to stay, while Tetradrachm has each-way claims if he can be trusted to produce his best. Nonetheless, for the winner the suggestion today is MULTELLIE, who went close over C&D last year in a stronger contest and is well worth another go, especially in this grade.
