Useful handicap hurdler on his day but no win since 2014, and this trip a big unknown (best form at much shorter) so plenty to prove after an absence tonight. Others preferred.

Did win a small maiden hurdle at Downpatrick last June but then not seen out until well down the field at Wexford recently after an absence of over a year. Will come on for that but still a bit to find on form.

Bred to do well over fences but not pulling any trees up at present, and finished off very weakly at Downpatrick on his latest start. Can only be watched at present.
Did win a point-to-point this spring (only two finishers) and was in the process of running a reasonable race at Clonmel when falling two out, Latest effort forgiven as he got loose beforehand but still plenty to find to get involved here.
Some classy efforts to his name over hurdles, notably an excellent second to Bellshill in a Grade 1 at Naas last year, but hard to know what he's capable of after an enforced absence and an early fall at Wexford last time won't have helped. Best watched at present.

5/1
Useful handicap hurdler that has turned in some good efforts over fences this spring/summer, no disgrace latest in finishing third to the high-class Rathvinden at Wexford. Stays and handles most ground, so has plenty going for him here, and has to be shortlisted.

No win now since 2014, but a high-class hurdler that was second in the 2015 Albert Bartlett Hurdle at his peak. Has twice changed trainers since then, and hard to know what he's capable of at present, with mistakes in his two chase starts to date. Others preferred.
Capable of solid form at a low level over hurdles, but not to the standard of a few of these, and chase efforts to date have only shown a modicum of promise. Step up in trip may help but still likely to find a few of these too good.

14/1
Useful handicap hurdler on his day but his chase efforts to date have left a bit to be desired, lacking a bit of fluency at times. Addition of cheekpieces didn't really help last time, and needs a step forward to get involved here.

Some good form to her name over hurdles, and was a close third in a Graded hurdle at Punchestown this year (3m). May have found the trip on the sharp side on chase debut at Tramore last month but this more suitable, and getting weight here, holds every chance.

Forecasts

Screaming Rose (5/4), A Sizing Network (9/2), Master Appeal (5/1), Tesseract (13/2), Milsean (7/1), Last Encounter (12/1), Newsworthy (14/1), Rise Of An Empire (14/1), Blessed King (25/1), Forever Dylan (50/1), Keephimbachwilliam (66/1)

Verdict

Some of these that have the best hurdles form have a bit to prove over fences now, and as such the two to concentrate on look to be SCREAMING ROSE and Master Appeal. Preference is for the Mullins runner who gets a bit of weight and this step up in trip should see her in a much better light. Master Appeal is doing little wrong and can give her the most to think about. Tesseract is slowly getting the hang of things and may be able to claim the bronze.
