Bumper winner here in June 2016 and solid efforts in maiden hurdles later in the year. Not seen out since last September so may need the run, but ought to be races to be won with him this season.
Lost his action after a bad mistake at Bellewstown last time, so that effort forgiven, and earlier second at Wexford is working out fine (winner has gone in again since). Leading chance on that and if jumping better, should go close.
Runner-up all three starts over hurdles, best effort on debut when second to the useful Cook Islands but no so good latest when well beaten at Kilbeggan, finishing weakly. Obvious chance on form again but clearly beatable, and needs to dig in better when the pressure's on.
Has been a dream for placepotters recently, not out of the first three in any of his last four starts and appears to be taking a small step forward each time. Chances again here if the rain stays away (best form on good).
Tailed off both starts and has shown little ability so far, so can't be considered a likely candidate for top honours tonight.
Usually sent off a big price and has shown very little ability on either the Flat or one hurdles start. No realistic chance here.
Didn't appear to stay the 2m4f trip when third to Timi Roli at Tipperary, so this drop back to 2m looks a good move, and chances if building on that. May want the rain to stay away, though.
Yet to win in 12 starts but with a top yard, and didn't do too badly on the Flat at Bellewstown a fortnight ago and may yet do better over hurdles, having shown little to date. Market may guide.
Ran a little better than finishing position suggested at Gowran Park and looked in need of further. Some rain would help, and may go better than likely big odds suggest, but still a lot to find to get involved.
Getting the hang of things and has shown a similar level of form on his last two starts, stayed on nicely to take third at Cork latest and each-way chances again if building on that.
Only low-level form on the Flat (stays 2m) and hasn't shown anywhere near enough in two starts over hurdles to date.
Jumping technique left plenty to be desired on her debut at Downpatrick recently and he can't be entertained as a likely winner here.
Not totally without ability on the Flat (with James Fanshawe) but worrying to see the hood applied for hurdles debut at Cork, and she simply didn't show enough. Absence to overcome and best watched.
Forecasts
Monarch (6/4), Canny Tom (4/1), Herminio (4/1), Easy Pass (7/1), Storm Racer (8/1), Frank Wilde (16/1), Golden Poet (16/1), South Of Java (66/1), Sleeplessinseattle (66/1), Sea Captain (100/1), Marino Marvel (100/1), Make Up Your Mind (100/1), Fifty Shades (100/1)
Monarch is the one to beat on form, but the alarm bells are starting to ring now and he's not going to represent any value here. Canny Tom would look like the obvious alternative and if the rain does keep off, would hold a solid chance but it might be worth giving HERMINIO another chance after it all went wrong at Bellewstown last time. His previous form puts him right in the frame and he can get off the mark here. Frank Wilde is worth consideration if you're looking for an each-way punt.
