Has been running well from this or similar marks of late to make the frame at both Wetherby (7f, good to firm) and Carlisle (6f, good to firm) on his last two starts. Now drops again in trip and has not yet won over this short, though his latest effort didn't suggest that he lacks pace. Not ruled out.
Both his wins have been over the minimum trip with some cut in the ground, though he does act when it is quicker. 6lb lower today than his last win (at Ayr last season). Hasn't shown much from what looked attractive marks on his last two starts, but if on a going day he would have decent claims. Market check suggested.
Won at Catterick (5f, good to firm) in May in apprentice company, but an 8lb rise and soft ground did for him back at that venue last time. May do better now back on faster ground, but has only once finished in the money from a mark this high, so looks up against it.
Scored over C&D on his first visit to the track last time out. That was on soft ground and his best efforts have been on good or slower, so has it to prove in these conditions. 5lb rise will also ask questions, as he has never won a handicap from such a mark, so has to find a bit more.
Appears to go well on any ground and her wins have come from marks of 51, 52 and 53 and she is on the last of those again today for her first start for this trainer after a six-month absence. Yet to win when fresh, though has run well and this jockey is 1-2 when riding her. Interesting.
Was able to better her maiden efforts when switched to handicapping at Haydock 5f, good to firm) last time, when beaten just over 3L at 50-1. Dropped 2lb for that, which will help, though is going to need some improvement to score.
Sole turf success was five years ago in a Ripon maiden, with two further wins being on the All Weather. Trip and ground not a problem, but has had several tries from similar marks just lately and looks held.
Been tried at all sorts of trips from 5f-1m2f and yet to make the frame in 10 starts. Nothing we have seen suggests that that is about to change today.

Forecasts
Picks Pinta (15/8), Camanche Grey (4/1), Kodimoor (9/2), Star Cracker (6/1), Bunce (6/1), Lydiate Lady (15/2), Poet's Time (9/1), Cool Run Girl (12/1), Rat Catcher (33/1), Trulove (66/1)
Picks Pinta has been going well and should be capable of having a say again despite another drop in trip, while Star Cracker needs a market check as confidence may well suggest a revival in fortunes is imminent from a handy mark. Poet's Time is not ruled out after a drop in the weights following a handicap sighter and Cool Run Girl also has to enter calculations. However, in a race that should not take too much winning, LYDIATE LADY gets the vote. Although she has yet to win when fresh, she has run well and Paul Mulrennan is an eyecatching booking.
