From a yard that have been quiet of late but do looks as though they are on the way back he showed plenty of promise last time out. Made up a huge amount of ground to finish third (can be slow away) and will benefit from a strong gallop and looks to have a good chance here of getting off the mark.
Form has a rather uneven look about it although he did win a 7f maiden on the AW on his final juvenile start. Showed some encouragement in a couple of races this year without really getting competitive but probably needs to improve again to defy a mark like this.
Scored on his juvenile debut at Ripon over 6f but went the wrong way eventually over longer trips although he was highly tried. Last run didn't really give much hope either when tried over a mile and stepped up in trip again.
Has made some steady progress in maidens all on the AW over shorter trips and there has been promise in both his handicaps starts. His best run certainly came last time catching the eye in a Windsor handicap over 1m2f although he was never really in the right place in the contest but he certainly remains worth watching here.
Two of his three maiden runs suggested that handicaps would see him in a much better light but he was well below form when he did make his debut in that sphere last time out. That run came with cut in the ground and it may well be that a firmer surface will be needed before we see the best of him in handicaps.
Forecasts
First Up (13/8), Thundering Blue (9/4), War At Sea (10/3), Akamanto (8/1), White Tower (14/1)
Just a small field go to post and it looks as though two of the runners will dominate proceedings here with the THUNDERING BLUE just getting the nod over War At Sea both of whom have shown promise of late. Akamanto may well need some better ground before we see the best of him while First Up having shown some promise does face quite a stiff task off this sort of mark.
- Thundering Blue
- War At Sea
- First Up
