Showed his best form at Haydock last year when winning there twice and tends to show his best form there. The same track has been the scene of his two outings this year with the better run coming on the first occasion and will be dangerous if he gets a soft lead here although a wide draw makes that more difficult.

Another in the field who likes to get on with things at around this sort of trip with her last two wins coming on the AW. Easing slightly in the weights but has left the impression that she's just ticking over at the moment.

Well backed to land a decent gamble on his return to the track last year on the AW at Lingfield over 1m4f in a maiden. His two runs after that in handicaps suggested that he still need the experience and there may be more to come although this trip does look on the short side.

Has always been seen plenty on course and managed to end his losing drought at Pontefract in May over this trip having been well placed throughout the race. Went off the boil again after that although he did look as though he was bouncing back last time in a race where he was seen to good advantage.

A winner on the AW in April over a mile off a mark of 61 that remains his only success so far. His latest run was an improvement on a few that had gone before without necessarily making him look as though another win was on the cards.

Runs from a mark 1lb out of the weights here and has still to win a race and although the last run was creditable this still looks a tough ask.

Forecasts

Stosur (3/1), Midnight Whistler (7/2), Ravenhoe (7/2), Zaria (5/1), Chosen Character (6/1), Rattle On (7/1), Ede's The Mover (7/1), Ladurelli (10/1)

Verdict

With a couple that like to go forward in Stosur and Chosen Character this should be a well run race with Midnight Whistler a fascinating candidate even if this trip does look a little on the short side. Ravenhoe is rather in-and-out but is capable of winning a race such as this but ZARIA a C&D winner is given the nod to get back to winning form with her mark now looking one she can cope with and win off.
  1. Zaria
  2. Chosen Character
  3. Midnight Whistler
