Only win to date came on the AW over 1m4f in May. Best turf effort came last time out over 1m4f at Beverley (good to firm) when a 1L third behind Lean On Pete and that sort of form puts him bang in contention here.

Began life with two wins in NH Flat races and has slowly translated that promise to the Flat proper, winning a similar apprentices' handicap under this rider over C&D last week. Obvious claims despite a 6lb penalty.

Still sporting a maiden tag after 13 outings on the Flat and over jumps and is clearly exposed. Decent enough effort to finish second in a weak race over 1m2f at Bath (firm) in May but cheekpieces failed to improve him at Yarmouth latest. Tongue-tie now added.

Remains a maiden having failed to even go close in nine attempts so far. Has at least taken a step in the right direction with her two latest efforts over C&D and at Leicester but needs to up the ante once again.

Successful four times in France for Robert Collet in her younger days but has failed to place in 11 starts over hurdles and on the Flat since joining this stable. Readily brushed aside over C&D earlier this month and makes limited appeal.

Forecasts

Tobouggaloo (10/11), Pour L'Amour (7/2), St Andrews (5/1), Ocean Gale (5/1), Arthur's Queen (33/1)

Verdict

Former two-time bumper winner Tobouggaloo came good under William Cox to win a similar event over C&D last week and has obvious claims of a follow-up despite a 6lb penalty. That said, AW winner POUR L'AMOUR took a big leap forward on previous turf form with a staying-on third at Beverley last time and, providing Charlie Bennett is again able to get a similar tune out of the filly, she could have too much. Ocean Gale looks the most interesting of the remainder.
  1. Pour L'amour
  2. Tobouggaloo
  3. Ocean Gale
