Half-sister to the talented Suzi's Connoisseur, and made a winning stable debut (seasonal reappearance) over 7f at Brighton in mid May. Disappointing from this mark just nine days later when a beaten favourite here over 1m. However, given a break since and we should see a much better showing back over this trip with a useful 7lb claimer aboard.

Generally productive at this time of year (won three on the bounce during June and July 2016), and in good shape lately winning over 6f at Nottingham in mid June. Slightly higher in the weights, but placed since and should run his race over a trip he handles.

8lb higher than when winning over C&D in early May (beat subsequent winner Indigo Princess by 2¾L). Not so good at Newbury later that month, but that lesser effort was over 6f, and that trip might well have been plenty sharp enough.

Not won since August 2015 and comfortably held on her last two visits to this track. However, she is falling in the weights and has the bonus of having a 5lb claimer booked so there is room for some minor optimism on likely forecast faster ground.

Not won since August 2015, but has fallen in the weights as a result. Has run some decent enough races at this track in the past, but presumably something was amiss on her seasonal debut at Doncaster in April and not seen in competitive action since.

A dual winner over 1m on synthetics, but zero from four on turf to date. Off the track since February and has left Gay Kelleway to join this stable.

An eight race maiden who finished runner up over this trip on his seasonal reappearance at Lingfield in March, and wasn't beaten all that far when fourth of 11 to Blue On Blue over C&D in April. Probably on a fair mark and holds minor claims in the first time hood.

Fairly consistent this calendar year winning over this trip at Wolverhampton in April, and a runner up to Air Of York back at Dunstall Park in early June. Arguably not so solid on turf, but potentially well treated on the best of his efforts from last summer and wears blinkers for the first time.

Connections opted not too carry a penalty here (non runner) a few days after winning a 7f handicap at Brighton by a neck earlier in the month. Raised just 3lb by the assessor so that appears the correct call, and he should be on the premises on the strength of his previous C&D third to Always Thankful (from this mark) in early June.

Forecasts

Wahiba (9/2), In Ken's Memory (5/1), Aqua Libre (5/1), Widnes (11/2), Golden Guest (7/1), Caledonia Laird (8/1), Ubla (9/1), Soaring Spirits (10/1), Fever Few (22/1), Mr Andros (25/1)

Verdict

An open looking contest in which some minor claims can be made for a couple of those at likely larger forecast odds, including Aqua Libre. Connections of Golden Guest will surely be thankful that they waited for the handicapper to reassess their recent Brighton winner as opposed to running here under a penalty, and this fairly consistent three-year-old should be thereabouts. However, given the fine record of trainer Mick Appleby with stable switchers, another chance is given to the top-weighted IN KEN'S MEMORY to prove that her latest below par run might have come a shade too quickly on the back of her winning Brighton reappearance.
