Does not have the look of a chaser but ran well enough over C&D a month ago. He was less than fluent at the ditch on both occasions and still only found a much improved chaser too good for him. Stable do well here and he is very much in the reckoning.

Has just the one career victory and has had a battle with the handicapper ever since. Drops in class on his third run for new yard but the form of his last two races has not been working out. Holds Strongly Suggested on his effort at Southwell in May but remains vulnerable.

Looks held by Mccabe Creek on recent form and has since produced a dismal effort at Ffos Las. His overall form has an inconsistent look to it and this mark may be high enough nowadays.

Won a point-to-point earlier in the year but a largely inconsistent sort, as seen when trained by Richard Newland last year. Nicely weighted on his best form and back to his optimum trip.

Looked a smart prospect in 2014-15 but his form over the last 18 months has been woeful. Takes a big drop in the weights and is lowered in class. Trainer and rider combined for a double at Perth on Sunday, so one to note if the market suggests he is on the way back.

Has never been a fluent jumper of fences but overcame errors to land a poor race at Ffos Las. The runner-up was beaten 58L next time and he will need some luck to follow up.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: B S Hughes| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  106| D
7/2
Only a six-year-old but already the veteran of 43 races and has scored three times. Not the force he was but a change of tactics reaped dividends at Huntingdon. Another positive ride took him close at Stratford last time and he is on the same mark. Represents a yard that are 7-21 with their summer chasers here.

Forecasts

Trafalgar Rock (9/4), Hepijeu (7/2), McCabe Creek (9/2), Cut The Corner (11/2), Danvinnie (6/1), Strongly Suggested (14/1), The Grey Taylor (16/1)

Verdict

The Grey Taylor has been poor lately but his trainer's horses have returned to form and he would be very interesting if there is market support. Hepijeu seems more consistent lately and he represents a trainer with a good record here with his chasers. Cut The Corner has claims on his best form and his latest effort was encouraging. Mccabe Creek has found one too good for him on his last couple of starts and it could be a similar story here. TRAFALGAR ROCK will be having just his second start over fences and was unlucky to meet a well handicapped and improving rival last time. He showed enough to suggest he can score in this company for a stable who are in fine form
  1. Trafalgar Rock
  2. Mccabe Creek
  3. Cut The Corner
