Back-to-back winner on the AW in January over 6f (maiden) and then 5f (handicap) but looked as though he needed he needed the run after a break on his first turf start in May. Ran well below his AW form on his last start and this mark looks a little too testing for him.

Maiden winner at his sixth attempt when with Johnny Murtagh in Ireland at Dundalk. Showed some improved form on his first outing for this yard again on the AW and looked as though he appreciated the ease in grade when scoring on turf last time off a mark of 80. Now back up on grade and off a 4lb higher mark he looks to have a fairly tough task here.

Dual winner last year as a two-year-old (won on debut and in a nursery) and was highly tried on a few occasions since then. Looked to be coming to the boil on her penultimate run and confirmed that promise last time out when suited by the forcing tactics to win off a 4lb lower mark. Has run well off higher marks in the past and dangerous if she gets a soft lead here.

11/2
Lightly-raced sort who didn't race as a juvenile and made the most of a good opportunity to score over 5f in a maiden on her third start and looking as though there was more to come. Did far too much early on her handicap debut over 6f and will need to settle better to take a hand here.

Did win on turf as a two-year-old but has shown better form on the AW with different headgear used each time. Form tailed off a little on his last run and may not have the early pace to cope with the return to 5f now.

From a yard that do well with their sprinters even in this field she's not been favoured by the draw here. Her Yarmouth maiden win came in a race that rather fell apart (first run for yard) but she did show much improved form last time over 5f at Leicester off a 7lb lower mark. That career best pushes her into a higher grade she may be suited by a strong pace and has a chance is she can overcome a tricky draw.

Forecasts

Erissimus Maximus (11/4), Tahoo (10/3), Blitz (4/1), Ascot Day (5/1), Fair Cop (11/2), Ocelot (10/1), Desert Sport (12/1)

Verdict

With just six going to post there is a chance that the draw won’t play as big a part as usual over the 5f course here where stalls 1 and 2 have been dominant of late. Neither Ascot Day and Blitz who are in the those favoured stalls look to have a major chance and it could well be the front-running TAHOO can follow-up her last time out win. Ocelot will be a tough opponent if she can overcome the relatively wide draw with Erissimus Maximus looking to be the one that will finish strongly.
