Not beaten all that far despite a tardy start on her handicap debut at Pontefract in May (fourth to Bonnie Arlene). Returns from the same mark with both the runner up Livella Fella and third placed Rubis successful since, so that form looks solid enough.

Well backed when upped in trip to 1m2f for the first time at Redcar in late May, and made no mistake in hanging on gamely to score by a neck from Tread Lightly. That form probably lacks any real strength in depth, and a 10lb rise looks fairly harsh.

Won a 7f fillies nursery at Carlisle in August 2016, and has been placed in a couple of recent starts over 7f and 1m. However, now tackles this trip for the first time with stamina an obvious concern.

A five race maiden who isn't fully exposed in handicaps having proved disappointing in two starts on soft ground. Tackles this trip for the second time in her career with vastly different ground providing some hope for an improved showing.

Formerly with Marco Botti, and another horse to win on debut for this excellent trainer at Redcar in May (1m2f good to firm). Solid enough in two goes since (over shorter), so perhaps she's capable of winning again now back over this trip.

Six race maiden who has done the majority of his racing on the AW, but posted a dismal showing when last of nine over C&D (to Katebird) in relatively similar conditions last month.

Plugged on without getting competitive here (7½f) on his return from an almost twelve month break in early June. Arguably a shade disappointing on his handicap debut at Newcastle latest, but looks short on speed, so well worth a try over this longer trip.

Seven race maiden between 7f and 1m4f. Didn't appear to stay the longer trip at Pontefract latest, so might be suited by dropping back in trip, but overall looks an average performer at best.

Seven race maiden, mainly over 7f and shorter, and his stamina looked badly lacking late on when upped to this sort of trip on his most recent outing at Brighton in June.

Can take a keen grip in his races and has paid the price for that tendency as most recently as Friday at Carlisle when fifth of nine to Thorntoun Care. Better when settled and produced a career best when a 3½L runner up to Katebird over C&D on his penultimate start.

Forecasts

Clenymistra (3/1), Babamunchkin (7/2), Mr C (5/1), Bollin Ted (6/1), Shambra (13/2), Moonlight Silver (8/1), Knightsbridge Liam (9/1), Kilbaha Lady (10/1), Petit Filous (16/1), Seebring (20/1), Pitch High (33/1)

Verdict

Ollie Pears often saddles a winner or two at Beverley; Dyna Mite a recent case in point, and there would appear every chance that the unexposed MR C can add to that tally. He left his form in maidens well behind when stepping up to this trip for the first time over C&D last month when just under 3L third to Metronomic. Furthermore, he didn't enjoy the clearest of passages that afternoon and the much stronger Midge Mullen takes over in the saddle today. He has stamina on the side of his dam, and can take advantage of his plater's mark with Clenymistra the most obvious danger.
  1. Mr C
  2. Clenymistra
  3. Babamunchkin
