Course specialist who has won here four times. Ground versatile and managed to out-run her odds at Newbury last time out. No surprise to see her do well.

3lb higher than at the time of her last win at Windsor in April, but seems to be more effective over further, for all that she has previously scored over C&D.

Has been in good form so far this year, including when running a fine second at this course last time out. Up only 1lb with cheek pieces on and seems to still be improving, and is a big player here.

No win since September 2015, and has yet to really make an impression for his current trainer. Vulnerable to younger rivals here despite a continually lowering mark.

Winner of a C&D maiden here as a juvenile but hasn't been at his best so far this year, though a very narrow defeat at Doncaster last time (5f, good to firm), was his best performance for a while and hinted at a revival.

Forecasts

Verdict

The one who appeals most is SECRET AGENT, who has been running very well so far this year and ran a very good second over slightly further at this course last month. Raised only 1lb it's very likely that first time cheek pieces could bring about further improvement, and, crucially, he seems to be the only contender in the field who is still steadily progressing. He is preferred to course specialist Babyfact, who ran a big race at Newbury last time out, and Go Amber Go, who may prefer further but is still respected as a previous C&D scorer.
  1. Secret Agent
  2. Babyfact
  3. Go Amber Go
