Winner at Leicester in May before only beating one horse home in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot. Not disgraced on handicap/nursery debut at Haydock last time (6f, good to firm) but may have his work cut out defying top-weight here.
Well-beaten at odds of 50/1 then twice at 100/1 on his three starts so far. This represents a massive drop in class (the last two races were at Class 1 level), but he still has plenty to prove off the back of those performances.
Brighton maiden winner (5½f, good to firm), and steps down in class from some better races now, but looks on a high enough mark and is best watched. Blinkers added for the first time.
Has run some creditable races so far, but was disappointing when beaten at odds-on by Dreamboat Annie over C&D two starts ago, and failed to bounce back when fifth at Lingfield last week.
Yet to get off the mark but not beaten far in any of her races so far. Beaten less than a length in a novice auction event over C&D last time out and has potential in this sphere off her current mark.
C&D winner last time out when breaking her maiden at the third attempt. This is more competitive and though she may appreciate further in time she won well that day, she seems on a fair mark and can improve from her last run.
Well beaten in three novice races up until now and has plenty to find in order to prove competitive in this company off the opening mark she has been allotted.
Failed to land a blow in three attempts in maiden/novice company, though easily the best of those did come at this course. Likely to come on for this first run in handicap company, blinkers applied for the first time.
Ran just about as expected on handicap debut last time when finishing fourth having been sent off 8/1. Same mark now with blinkers applied for the first time and no surprise to see her finish in the places.
Outclassed in three novice events up until now but has still hinted at ability and at least seems consistent. May be able to go close off a low opening mark.
Forecasts
Aquadabra (5/2), June Dog (5/2), Hastenplace (7/1), Autumn Lodge (8/1), Laura Knight (10/1), Dreamboat Annie (12/1), Diamond Pursuit (12/1), Ivy Leaguer (20/1), Llamrei (20/1), Cove Beach (20/1)
Aquadabra has run well on just about all her starts to date and has to be respected on this handicap/nursery debut, but it's impossible to ignore how impressive DREAMBOAT ANNIE was in winning over C&D last time out. Mark Usher's charge beat an odds-on favourite with something in hand to put in easily the best of her three racecourse appearances so far. Her opening mark seems fair and she is taken to follow up in a competitive-looking little nursery, where Hastenplace is also worth considering.
- Dreamboat Annie
- Aquadabra
- Hastenplace
