Gelded son of Showcasing who sets the standard after placing in three of his four starts to date. Sure to find a race but suspicion there may be one or two unexposed rivals to lower his colours.

Just 3000 guineas as a yearling but a little promise when third of 5 on his racecourse bow at Bath last month. This looks much tougher though and he may struggle.

Nicely related 90,000 guineas Bated Breath colt has shaped nicely in two previous visits here and should be thereabouts once again with that experience to draw on. Has a good chance.

Moss Vale colt who hasn't shown a great deal in his two runs so far and may do better once handicapped later in the same season.

Nicely bred Kodiac filly but made just 6,000 guineas as a yearling which is a concern. Yard not known for readying one first time out so likely to improve for this first racecouse experience.

Daughter of Intense Focus cost 25,000 guineas as a yearling. Yard in tremendous form at present but juveniles usually need a run. In a run-of-the-mill event though still looks one worth at least a second glance.

First two-year-old runner for trainer who has yet to send out a winner. Fitting of the hood on debut is a worry for this daughter of Casamento, so a watching brief is best advised.

Beaten out of sight and clueless on debut. A little better last time out but still comprehensively beaten and may well need plenty more time.

130,000 euros as a yearling, her dam is a half-sister to an Irish 1000 Guineas winner. Bred to be decent, but yard not known for readying juveniles first time. Nonetheless, she may well be in the mix in this company.

Connections forked out 88,000 euros for her as a foal and she is related to a number of decent winners. Yard capable of having one ready first time and looks a likely type on paper. Market should prove a good guide.

Appeared not stay when stepped up to 7f last time but drop back to 5f is a drastic move. Hasn't really shown enough yet to suggest she is up to winning this contest.

Forecasts

Expecting (11/4), Airshow (11/4), Golden Salute (4/1), Awesometank (9/2), Global Rose (12/1), Summer Thunder (20/1), Alaskan Bay (25/1), Avenging Red (28/1), Mossketeer (33/1), Calvin's Gal (66/1), Glamorous Rocket (100/1)

Verdict

EXPECTING can put his previous experience at this track to good use and get off the mark at the third time of asking. It won't be a picnic with a few nicely bred newcomers in opposition, including pricey purchases Global Rose and Golden Salute with the potential to do well. Airshow, the most experienced in the race, should be on the premises once again, and with her yard in cracking form, another debutante Awesometank is not ruled out either.
