Al Kazeem filly was off the mark at the second time of asking ten days ago in 5f Bellewstown maiden (good), needing every yard to get up. Dealt a stiff task on handicap bow conceding lumps of weight but could have plenty more to offer.
One notable performance from three in maidens so far, being beaten 2L over 6f at Leopardstown last month on good ground. Has been below that since over 7f at Gowran Park and has to up game for this handicap bow.
Won a decent maiden at Fairyhouse (6f, good) ten days ago, battling well to get up close home. Yard are in good form right now and given a chance by the assessor for this first handicap start.
Has been there or thereabouts a couple of times from five attempts in 5f maidens so far, upped in trip now for handicap debut and is one to monitor closely in the betting. Could improve.
Shown a similar level of form in all three maidens at around this sort of trip, all on decent ground. Will handle conditions and could improve on switch to handicapping. Check market.
By a Group One-winning sprinter and a half-sister to the talented Ashdown Express. Beaten in four maidens thus far, though she did go slightly better at Fairyhouse when sporting first-time blinkers and last day when second of 11, ¾L behind Amenette last month at Limerick. Handicap debut here and looks a player.
Filly has been tried over three different trips in trio of runs so far, latest bringing 3¼L defeat over 7f in a Limerick maiden. Makes handicap debut and could be up to having a say.
Well held in maidens thus far, doesn't look particularly well treated for this handicap debut, others look more likely.
Forecasts
Golden Spell (11/4), Deep Breath (7/2), Navajo Dreamer (9/2), War Hero (9/2), Summerseat Mist (9/1), Ballot Box (10/1), Rhythm Of Love (10/1), Sandbanks Road (33/1)
A tough field to assess given these are running in a handicap for the first time. It is clear that Golden Spell looks talented after her win at Bellewstown last time out by the daughter of Al Kazeem in being asked a big question giving away so much weight in this. She should still give a decent account of herself but once-raced winner DEEP BREATH looks to have been more leniently judged after victory over this trip at Fairyhouse and may be the one to take advantage for a trainer in pleasing form. Navajo Dreamer is not passed over easily while Summerseat Mist could easily improve and contend here.
- Deep Breath
- Navajo Dreamer
- Golden Spell
