He has won five races in his career to date, his most recent success coming in a mile handicap at Bath last September. Ran well when almost slipping the field at Bath on his penultimate start but faded in a 7f Chester handicap last time. Needs his very best to strike here.

Son of Dubawi and a former inmate of John Gosden and Luca Cumani, where he showed glimpses of ability. Beat just one rival home at Newbury, over 1m2f last month on his first run for a new trainer and he could run into a place this evening.

Fairly consistent and useful on his day, he was winning for the fifth time in his career when scoring over 1m2f at Lingfield in May, Tom Marquand giving him a good ride to get up and deny Mercy Me. Another solid effort followed and he could go close here.

Progressive looking colt showed a degree of promise in a couple of outings as a juvenile and kicked off his three-year-old campaign in style with victory over a mile at Goodwood last month, eased close home to win with something to spare. May well follow up.

Similar profile to Harbour Rock as he began his three-year-old campaign with a win having gone down in many a notebook after a couple of promising efforts at two. Racing over 7f at Chelmsford, he stayed on well to win by a length from El Cap and he will have plenty of supporters.

Maiden has not had that many races and he certainly has the ability to pick up a small race at some stage this season. Made the running in a four-runner 1m2f race at Brighton last time but had no answer to the speed of the easy winner Another Eclipse. Needs to improve further.

Forecasts

Harbour Rock (11/8), Mamdood (7/2), Exceeding Power (4/1), Wannabe Friends (5/1), Ripoll (10/1), Zamalight (12/1), British Embassy (16/1), Glory of Paris (16/1)

Verdict

Mamdood looks a really nice progressive type and will be a popular choice to follow up his recent win over 7f at Chelmsford with another victory here. Ripoll has caught the eye on a couple of occasions recently and this four-time winner on an artificial surface certainly has the ability to win races on turf. He has been a shade unlucky in some of his recent races and he will be looking to pick them up in the latter stages. Exceeding Power has the form in the book to mount a strong challenge but the choice has to be the improving HARBOUR ROCK. Jamie Spencer gave him a peach of a ride when scoring with something in hand at Goodwood and he could be one to follow over the next few months. Wannabe Friends is another to consider.
  1. Harbour Rock
  2. Ripoll
  3. Mamdood
