Took a couple of nursery handicaps last year off marks of 76 and 80 and his form this year has been rather patchy. Excuses could be found for his first two runs but even though he wasn't beaten far last time out at Chelmsford he appeared not to be right and is probably best watched here on the back of that run.

Showed improved form on his seasonal debut when he scored at Beverley over an extended 7f and showed some fair form after that run without looking an obvious winner again. Ran his best race since at Beverley last time out and having now scored there twice it may well be that is the best place to catch him.

Has certainly been in good form this year with his Carlisle win being topped by his last two starts which has both resulted in seconds at Wetherby and here over C&D. The Wetherby form has received plenty of boots and he ran well here last time out given that he was caught a little wide and ran freely and looks sure to give a good account again this time around.

Had two runs in Ireland for Dermot Weld when a juvenile both on ground with plenty of give over 7f and wore blinkers in the last occasion. Gelded since he's only had one run for his current showing plenty of ability when third at Newmarket (that run probably didn't help his mark) over a mile when 50/1. Should be suited by further than this given his pedigree but an interesting contender who may well be able to make his mark on his handicap debut.

Scored on his debut on the AW as a two-year-old but has remained winless since in 14 tries and has run a couple of poor races now in a row. Has run some decent races but that win-to-run ratio is a slight worry and others are preferred here.

Finally came good here last time out over C&D on his second handicap start off a greatly reduced mark from his first try in a handicap. Should not be much between him and Right Action this time around and showed a good battling attitude last time out and he can't be left out of the equation here.

Showed very much improved form when winning on his seasonal/handicap debut this year over 5f on the AW at Wolverhampton. Didn't really show enough here last time out over C&D and looks to face a tough enough task here.

Forecasts

Valentino Boy (2/1), Proud Archi (3/1), Right Action (10/3), Plant Pot Power (13/2), Kryptos (11/1), Tailor's Row (16/1), Blue Rocks (20/1)

Verdict

This looks to revolve around the re-match between RIGHT ACTION and Valentino Boy and it’s the former who this time is taken to reverse a narrow defeat he took last time out. None of the others make tremendous appeal although Kryptos looks of interest for the future over further and Proud Archi may well be seen to better advantage at Beverley.
