Highly tried since her Chelmsford win with her best effort coming in a Listed event in France when asked to concede 4lb to Rostova and only going down by a length. Fortunes this year reflect those of the yard as a whole and one to watch in the market for clues that confidence is restored.
Gradually finding her form and level as evidenced by her York run a week ago. Once again though she may have to play a supporting role to a younger rival.
Stepped up on previous efforts to win a four-runner race at Newmarket when dropped back to a mile. Won that a shade cosily but hard to say she is value for an 8lb rise. Stable took this with another three-year-old in 2012.
Beaten in a finish of necks at Sandown last time and the third finished well behind Mittens at Newmarket next time. That form flatters the Stoute filly and there is probably little between the pair.
Ran well from this mark on her return in May but that form has been devalued since and suggests she has work to do here.
Last two wins have come from marks of 77 and a 2lb drop following her latest run brings her below that level. Needs to bounce back from a poor effort last time but that was not the first occasion she has flopped at Hamilton in bad ground.
Lightly raced and on the upgrade with more patient tactics reaping dividends recently. Up significantly in class but gives the impression there is a lot more to come. Back on turf for this and a victory at Windsor confirms her effectiveness on the surface, although two defeats on softer ground highlight the need for drier weather.
Scored under this rider at Pontefract before finding a penalty too much of an anchor at Bath next time. Has to race off the same mark here and looks up against it.
Left her AW form behind with progressive displays at Lingfield and Newmarket. On the latter occasion she was a shock winner but there was no fluke about the performance. The runner-up has scored twice since and a 4lb rise in the weights may underestimate her.
In good form last month with a fluent Yarmouth victory before meeting with interference at Chepstow. Up another 6lb and taking a big leap in class.
Forecasts
Mittens (3/1), Tirania (7/2), Pattie (9/2), Soldier's Girl (15/2), Helfire (9/1), Patching (12/1), Luna Bear (14/1), Yeah Baby Yeah (16/1), Havre De Paix (20/1), Alexandrakollontai (20/1)
This is a race that has been dominated three-year-olds from the big yards and in that respect Mittens and Tirania fit the bill. Both have to defy rises in the weights and have the scope to do so. Another filly from that age group, LUNA BEAR, comes from a smaller yard but is improving at a rapid rate. The form of her latest run looks better with the second winning twice since, including an 8L romp on Wednesday. Hellfire is another progressive filly taking a step up in class. Her style of racing makes it hard to assess how much she may have left to offer, but her trainer is not one to overstretch his horses and she merits respect.
- Luna Bear
- Mittens
- Tirania
