C&D winner on soft ground last week. Made nearly all the running on that occasion and likely to prove hard to beat if repeating that effort under a penalty today.

Winner of one of his 31 career starts but ran well when third under this jockey at Wolverhampton in May. Disappointing since however and others make more appeal.

Finished in the frame twice over this C&D last month but disappointed at Doncaster (soft) on his latest start. Interesting runner off a mark 1lb higher than for his latest placed effort.

Forecasts

Turning Gold (4/7), King Oswald (13/2), Jack Nevison (15/2), Penny Red (9/1), World Record (9/1), Break The Silence (12/1), Touch The Clouds (14/1), Dukes Meadow (22/1), Ice Alert (28/1), Seventii (28/1)

Verdict

The softer ground last week appeared to suit Turning Gold and with faster ground forecast here he may have to give best to WORLD RECORD who ran well to finish runner-up off this mark at Brighton last time out and who has a decent draw in stall four today. Of the remainder it may fall to King Oswald who already has a win to his name over this C&D in 2017 to claim third.
