In excellent shape lately over the extended mile at Wolverhampton, but beaten 4½L from this mark by Einstein latest, so the handicapper might just be getting a grip on that progress now. Respected.

Her sole career success came over C&D in October, but she has largely struggled from higher marks since. Well beaten on grass at Wetherby latest and others appear more convincing.

Has been racing over further (1m3f) without too much appeal. However, has fallen in the weights as a result and can be expected to more competitive over this trip judged upon his January C&D third to Saleh (from a 7lb higher mark).

Yet to win on an AW surface although he has gone close previously (largely at Southwell). Has failed to distinguish himself on previous attempts at this track, and is poorly drawn, but beginning to look attractively treated.

Produced a couple of moderate efforts since winning over 1m2f at Lingfield in April and previous recent evidence at this track tells us that he'll not get going until it's all too late over this trip.

Lightly raced (six starts) and dropped 7lb since finishing fourth of seven on his handicap debut here over 7f in September 2016. Not convinced in two starts this year, and debatable as to whether he'll stay on his first attempt at this trip.

Successful three times in 33 starts on turf (all for Mick Channon) but failed to win for Ron Hodges and a switch to this yard has failed to bring about a resurgence. Well handicapped on his old form, and lightly raced on the AW, but yet to show any appetite for it just yet.

Courted some controversy when taken out of a race at Newbury recently (ground), and now seeks to break his AW maiden tag (three time winner on turf). Feasibly handicapped and has gone well over C&D in the past, but his recent racing has been done over longer trips.

Six race maiden who appeared to handle the surface when fourth in a maiden here in December. Not too much promise since switched to handicaps, but dropping slowly in the weights and still early 'ish' days to be readily dismissive.

Unbeaten over C&D (two from two), but now 8lb higher than his latest victory in early February. Possible that he needed the race at Windsor in May (off a twelve week break), and it makes sense to return to this track where he must always be feared.

Ex Richard Hannon, but hasn't shown much in two starts for this trainer in 2017 after being picked up for 13,500 gns. Blinkers go on this seven race maiden to coincide with his AW debut in the hope that something new can bring about improved form.

Nine race maiden (0 from 5 on the AW) who is steadily dropping in the weights, and drops in trip having raced over 1m3f here on his return from a six month break last month.

Verdict

A race in which many of the runners are seemingly out of form with the exception of a couple of horses. Therefore, despite concerns about rising marks, this pair should form the focus of our attentions. Makhfar has shown a consistent level of form over the extended mile at Wolverhampton, but importantly also has proved himself at this track (fourth here in April). However, DANGEROUS ENDS can boast a prefect two from two over C&D and returns to this Sunbury venue with a plausible excuse for his latest effort (back from a break). He needs a career best from a mark of 63 (8lb higher than his last winning mark), but this is far from a strong race, and he might just prove good enough.
