Run in a trio of National Hunt bumpers over the past couple of months without looking like winning. Big drop in trip here but doesn't make any great appeal.
Beaten 25L in a maiden at Roscommon last month over 1m3f (good to yielding) on just second Flat start. Well beaten here previously (1m4f) in December. Others preferred.
Intense Focus gelding makes debut here, likely to have limited aspirations with yard being quiet recently. Jockey in good form.
Vocalised gelding appeared to stable second string for last month's debut at Tipperary and was duly beaten 12½L in finishing tenth of 14. Work to do on that evidence.
Fastnet Rock filly is a rare runner for the yard at the moment, booking of Smullen on debut is an interesting one and makes her worth a market check.
Thewayyouare gelding was last home in 1m4f Bellewstown maiden (good) over the weekend. Shaped with some promise up with the leaders for a long time before fading rapidly, could improve for the run.
Finished runner-up in a Listed contest here over 1m1f on yielding ground when wearing blinkers for the first time in October. Disappointing on return at Naas (1m2f, yielding) in April but since gone well over 1m4f at Leopardstown. Sets standard on form.
A $160,000 purchase for Godolphin, he was sent off at 33/1 on debut at Navan (1m5f, good) last month and ran accordingly in being beaten 15L. Work to do but should prove better than that form in time.
Well beaten off in maidens at this track in February over 7f/1m and plenty to prove returning to action over this longer trip for handicap bow. Market check advised.
Oasis Dream gelding comes to the track for the first time here. Yard have been running a bit cold of late and unlikely to pay following this debutant.
Sir Prancelot gelding cost 8,000 gns, half-brother to winners Kalon Braama and Diatomic, made decent start at the Curragh last month (1m4f, soft to heavy) and could improve if acting on this surface.
Forecasts
Diodorus (4/9), Don Pedro (5/1), Winston Wolfe (6/1), Persina (14/1), Total Focus (16/1), Vocal Resurgence (16/1), Runyon Rattler (20/1), Exit West (40/1), Qubtaan (50/1), Classical Rock (66/1), Eljaammi (80/1)
Diodorus is an obvious starting place and the Ballydoyle inmate sets the standard on form. His Listed effort at Leopardstown in October stands him apart from these and it will be a letdown for connections if he can't take this. That said, he is not bombproof by any means and looks worth taking in pursuit of some value. The booking of Smullen on Persina is well worth noting and she could be set to run a big race on debut while Classical Rock and Don Pedro are potential improvers. WINSTON WOLFE made a decent start on testing ground at the Curragh last month and could take a step forward here if handling the surface, making the Sir Prancealot gelding a potential value call.
- Winston Wolfe
- Diodorus
- Persina
