His sole career success came at odds of 1/4 for Andrew Balding on the AW at Kempton in March 2016, and he was dropped to a claimer by this trainer for his penultimate start. Not too far from the placings at Thirsk and appears to handle any going. Stable have had four winners since Sunday.
Has a modest 3-43 record but has won around here and acts on the ground. Has shown himself to be temperamental. Tends to be dropped out at the start these days before delivering a last ditch effort. Probably needs too much to go right than will necessarily be the case.
First two runs of this year in blinkers hinted that there may be better to come as he slipped down below his last winning mark. Looked less effective last time without headgear and he ran a poor race. Rarely runs away from the Tapeta at Newcastle these days (last seven runs there) but does act on turf and respected here as the headgear returns.
His best recent effort came here as have two of his three career wins (both gained on a soft surface). Stable have been struggling to find his right trip lately but there are reasons to be positive about his prospects now he reverts to 7f on this circuit.
Stable have been going well but hard to be positive about the chances for this runner. Has failed to win since December 2014 and has flattered to deceive in the past.
By a sire who is an influence for stamina and out of a dam who produces sprinters. Has made no impact in three maidens over 6f-7f and earns a modest mark for her handicap debut.
Three runs in handicaps has the assessor downwardly revising his assessment of this six-race maiden. Has fewer miles on the clock than most in this but it remains hard to see him making the necessary progress.
23-race maiden but still gambled on for stable debut in a "hands and heels" apprentice race at Ripon last month. Looks sure to build on that for capable trainer and with a good claimer engaged to ride.
Poor in maidens and has been no better since switching to handicaps despite a gradually lowering mark. Seems an unlikely sort compared to some of these.
Cost connections €27,000 and has looked poor value so far. Dam was better on quicker surfaces and stable are finding winners harder to come by. Makes handicap debut off a lowly mark and she is hard to fancy unless there is significant support.
Form looks moderate and stable are 0-24 over the past four weeks. Recent efforts reflect the poor form of the stable and cheekpieces are fitted in a bid to alter the trend.

CARLOVIAN is a risk as a 23-race maiden, but he is open to improvement having changed yards and his latest effort signalled he had the ability to win a race such as this. There is plenty to like about his prospects off a weight that gets him in at the foot of the handicap and with a good value claimer on board. Bold Spirit looks a threat on a track where he excels and Bernie's Boy represents a yard that have hit a rich vein of form in the last few days
