Frustrating to follow because he clearly looked like he had the ability of a horse in the mid-90s on his reappearance last year, but has flattered to deceive since. Would have liked to have seen much more from him dropped into this grade at Haydock last time. Market confidence would be interesting but otherwise best watched despite attractive mark.
Scored over this trip at York last year (good to firm) and ran to a similar level of form after that with the exception of his final start at Ripon. Since gelded and comes back here after a long break and a 1lb drop. That leaves him 4lb higher than his York win and a market check is strongly advised.
Won over C&D (good to soft) in September and notched her first success since at Brighton (5½f, good to firm) last time. Up 3lb for that eased down win here, but previous recent efforts from this high in the weights have seen her find something too good and that's the percentage call again.
Enjoying a cracking 2017 with four wins from seven starts, including over C&D (firm) two starts ago. Carries a penalty here for following up at Sandown last time and completing the hat-trick will demand a fair bit more. Respected.
Has been sent off favourite in all his last four starts and justified that last time when scoring over 5½f here (good to firm) with perhaps a little more in hand than the official margin suggested. Raised 4lb as a result, same pilot up here and looks a leading player.
Scored over this trip at Nottingham last year on good to firm when 1lb higher and ran one of his best races since at Salisbury last time, when beaten just 1½L. Should again go well here from this 1lb lower mark.

Union Rose would be too good for this lot on some of his old form, but he is a risky proposition despite an attractive-looking mark and preference is for TRICK OF THE LIGHT, who is far from bombproof himself but has had another confidence-boosting win and looks the solid option. Discreet Hero is interesting after a lengthy break and could go well, while all of the others have points of merit and a win for any would be no major shock.
