Former Brazil racer who has also had plenty of trainers on these shores. Finished third on his final start for Ian Williams over C&D in December, and was entitled to need to race when well beaten on debut for this trainer at Haydock in late April.

Named after a New Zealand All Black, but clearly not the force of his human namesake despite having the necessary qualities to take a 6f maiden at Lingfield in November. Hasn't returned to action from a break in great shape (last on both recent starts), so steps back up in trip today with first time cheek-pieces added to tongue tie.

Shown his 'best' form so far on the AW, winning a 7f Newcastle maiden for Charles Hills in June 2016. Not really shone (bar a couple of placed efforts at Chelmsford) for this trainer, and the visor is now applied to the tongue tie.

Won a 7f Down Royal maiden for David Wachman in July 2016 but only modest form in England for Michael Wigham. Switched to another new trainer (13,000 gns purchase in May), but probably not eased enough in the weights just yet.

Now 6lb lower than his last winning mark for Kevin Morgan at Kempton in June 2016 (7f) but hasn't looked any significant force in five starts for this trainer since March.

Runner up to Chepstow specialist Fantasy Queen in a small field fillies handicap last month (1m good to firm), and has proved her ability on the AW in the past. Not entirely ruled out despite the draw.

Has some decent form on the AW, and got the better of La Guapita to take a 7f Lingfield maiden in early January. Found handicapping tough so far, but eased a couple of pounds since finishing last of nine over 6f to Dandy Highwayman (solid race) at Hamilton last month.

Won twice over C&D for Stuart Williams in 2016 and was a runner up on his final start for that yard at Yarmouth in May. Shaped okay on debut for this yard, but a beaten favourite latest and needs to bounce back, but possible that a return to this surface can prove the catalyst.

Not shown much form this year in three starts on turf since late April (all at about 1m), but has won on Polytrack in the past (maiden) so worth a go on Tapeta to see if it can revitalise/refocus.

Won a 7f apprentices handicap for Tom Dascombe at Lingfield in January, but struggled on his final two starts for that yard. This trainer has done well on the AW so far, and it's probably best to ignore his stable debut effort at Chester recently (bumped at the start).

Lightly raced handicap debutant who is getting to grips with racing as she musters more experience. Returned for her seasonal debut over C&D in May (maiden) and went under by a rapidly diminishing nose to odds on favourite Dhalam (not raced since). Opening mark looks reasonable and an obvious contender.

Looked mildly interesting for her AW debut at Newcastle last month, but never got involved after dwelling, and was no match for the progressive Mabs Cross at Haydock latterly. Dropped a few more pounds and should hold claims based upon her juvenile form, but ideally you'd like to see a shade more from her prior to recommending.

Forecasts

Narjes (1/1), Flying Fantasy (6/1), Dubai Art (8/1), Marbooh (12/1), Mezmaar (12/1), The Yellow Bus (16/1), Kachess (16/1), Here's Two (20/1), Energia Flavio (22/1), Beauden Barrett (25/1), Northdown (33/1), Harry Holland (80/1)

Verdict

Whilst it is difficult to get a gauge as to exactly what NARJES achieved in chasing home Dhalam in a C&D maiden in late May, there was plenty to like about her application in the closing stages of the race. She makes her handicap debut from an opening mark of 71, and with Tom Queally taking over in the saddle is worth chancing in a race where the vast majority of her rivals have considerably more experience than her, but are equally considerably more exposed.
