Hard to know what he achieved in a weak Hamilton maiden last time. Came home in good style but faces stronger opponents here on much quicker ground.

Has looked backward on both starts to date but has indicated some ability. Trainer is 19-48 in maidens up North at this time of year and has a good overall strike rate at this circuit.

Had Broadway dreams behind when bot made their debuts at Redcar last month. Noted putting in some good work at the finish and will know a lot more this time. Stable have enjoyed a good month and he has the potential to outrun his forecast odds.

Third in a poor Lingfield maiden in February and has found life tougher since. Looks to be punching above his weight here judged on recent performances.

Cape Cross half-brother to a couple of winners in Australia. Dam was a Group two winner at this trip. Trainer has a 13-35 record at the track and had a winning debutant from this age group on Friday.

Had Roddy and Broadway Dreams behind in a good quality Redcar maiden last time. Both were making their debuts and finished close enough to suggest they might turn the tables now. Hood goes on for the first time and will need to produce some improvement.

Forecasts

Precision (7/4), Walton Street (15/8), Love Conquers (5/2), Broadway Dreams (4/1), Roddy (9/1), Fire Leopard (16/1), Trade Route (16/1)

Verdict

Walton Street is of obvious interest on his debut here but his stable's newcomers generally improve for a run at this time of year. LOVE CONQUERS sets a high enough standard judged on her latest run to warrant the pick for a stable that do well on their raids here. Roddy represents a stable in form and should reverse recent Redcar form with Fire Leopard whilst Precision has needed the experience of his first two starts and a market move would be interesting given his yard's record here.
  1. Love Conquers
  2. Walton Street
  3. Roddy
