Got the run of the race down the golden highway that is the stands side rail at Hamilton on Monday (5f good), and is turned out quickly under a penalty. Likely to make another bold bid from the front and has winning form with cut, but now away from his favoured track.
Climbing sharply in the weights, and the winning run came to an end at Newbury last week when not quite able to get on terms with fellow stands side racer Delagate This Lord (6f, good to firm). Couldn't be ruled out having shown he handles cut from his days in Ireland.
Picked up for 5,000 gns from Roger Varian and this trainer is known to excel with others cast-offs. Keen and not helped by racing on the outer when well beaten by Bronze Beau at Hamilton in early June. Can do better with time and the hood is now applied.
Went close on his penultimate start at Thirsk (6f soft) from a 1lb higher mark when 3L second to French. Ideally could do with being a little sharper from the stalls (tends to dwell) but has winning form over this trip with cut so should be on the premises.
Dropped gradually in the weights, and whilst a two time winner has yet to prove her ability on ground softer than good to soft. Switches back from the AW needing to show a fraction more for win purposes, but the application of first time cheek-pieces could aid some improvement.
Already a two time winner in 2017 on the Tapeta at Newcastle and this previous C&D winner has maintained his form now for a number of months. Handicapped to run another solid race and has shown in the past that he handles cut.
Well beaten in all three maidens over various trips (5f, 1m & 1m2f). Difficult to imagine he'll be good enough against his elders over this trip unless the market indicates otherwise.

Forecasts
Deeds Not Words (15/8), Muatadel (11/4), Show Palace (3/1), Rose Eclair (3/1), Windforpower (7/1), Bronze Beau (8/1), First Rate (20/1), Redarna (33/1)
A trappy contest in which the only thing that looks guaranteed is that Monday's Hamilton winner Bronze Beau will force the pace. Deeds Not Words and Windforpower have collectively won plenty of races already in 2017, with the latter perhaps slightly more likely to run his race from his current handicap mark. Mutadel has shaped well since switching to Roger Fell but the new surroundings effect might gradually be wearing off now, so SHOW PALACE gets the nod in the hope that he can break relatively on terms and then still be doing all of his best work in the closing stages over this shorter (5f) trip.
