A 5f winner from this mark for Michael Dods at Thirsk in September 2016, and has also won earlier in his career at this track (6f). Effective with cut in the ground, but has only produced moderate efforts on three starts for this trainer. Wears first time cheek-pieces.
Has winning form over both 6f and 7f, so clearly a versatile filly who has gradually fallen in the weights. Posted a pleasing effort against her own sex when ½L runner up to Whatsthemessage over 7f here recently. Drop in trip should be countered by slightly softer ground and this rider takes off a valuable 5lb.
Previously with Ralph Beckett and a runner up from a 10lb higher mark at Epsom in September 2016 (7f). Yet to fire in five starts for this trainer since reappearing on Good Friday. Drops noticeably in trip and that might well prove to be the solution. Non-runner at Thirsk on Wednesday.
Not won since May 2014 (6f soft at Chester), but clearly well suited by cut and has fallen to a career low mark. Might well have needed his most recent start at Catterick and this drop in trip looks helpful. Not without a chance if the first time visor has a desired effect.
Vainly chased down the decisive winner Round The Island over 6f at Pontefract (good) on his most recent start last month, and is generally consistent enough from this mark. Shouldn't be troubled by the forecast ground and likely to be in the reckoning.
Made reasonable progress since finally getting his head in front at Wolverhampton in December. Won a similar contest for this rider on his most recent outing at Ripon (6f good), but in holding off the seemingly reluctant to win Cool Strutter by a neck it's debatable as to what that form actually amounts to.
Has shown his prowess over 6f on soft ground in the past, including for Kevin Ryan at Hamilton in May 2016, and is now 5lb below that last winning mark. However, his recent form is poor, and he's blown the start on both outings for this stable in 2017.
C&D winner on debut in August 2015 (soft), and has gradually rediscovered her form since the autumn of 2016. Won a 6f fillies handicap by ½L at Newcastle in March and whilst beaten from this 3lb higher mark since, could go well if freshened up by a break.
Stablemate of Sir Domino who has won on three occasions over this trip with cut (Hamilton and Chepstow). However, badly out of form in 2017, and hasn't beaten a rival in three starts since mid May.
His sole career success came on Tapeta at Wolverhampton in October 2016 (6f), but he hasn't looked at ease racing on softer ground in the past and runs here from out of the handicap having finished last of 15 on his reappearance at Wetherby (7f) last month.

Forecasts
Mr Orange (5/2), Cliff (4/1), Quick N Quirky (5/1), Market Choice (7/1), Ki Ki (7/1), The Hooded Claw (8/1), Bernie's Boy (10/1), Short Work (11/1), Sir Domino (33/1), Mr Conundrum (50/1), Reflation (50/1)
Conditions will be ideal for a few of these runners with a couple of previous soft ground C&D winners in the contest. Cliff plundered a similar contest at Ripon last month, but there must be some question marks as to the actual worth of that form, so he is overlooked. Mr Orange is consistent enough from this mark and should run his race whilst The Hooded Claw can be expected to be sharper for his recent run at Catterick and isn't out of the reckoning from a reduced mark if the first time visor proves helpful. However, QUICK N QUIRKY is also well treated (furthermore so with Robert Dodsworth's 5lb claim), and she ran a solid race when runner up to Whatsthemessage over 7F here late last month. The forecast softer ground will help to counter the drop in trip, and she's a confident call in the opener.
- Quick N Quirky
- The Hooded Claw
- Mr Orange
