Posted a pleasing effort against her own sex when ½L runner up to Whatsthemessage over 7f here recently. Drop in trip should be countered by slightly softer ground and this rider takes off a valuable 5lb.

Verdict

Conditions will be ideal for a few of these runners with a couple of previous soft ground C&D winners in the contest. Cliff plundered a similar contest at Ripon last month, but there must be some question marks as to the actual worth of that form, so he is overlooked. Mr Orange is consistent enough from this mark and should run his race whilst The Hooded Claw can be expected to be sharper for his recent run at Catterick and isn't out of the reckoning from a reduced mark if the first time visor proves helpful. However, QUICK N QUIRKY is also well treated (furthermore so with Robert Dodsworth's 5lb claim), and she ran a solid race when runner up to Whatsthemessage over 7F here late last month. The forecast softer ground will help to counter the drop in trip, and she's a confident call in the opener.
