A winner earlier in the year at Thirsk and Redcar he's been well below his best on his last two starts. Still 4lb above his last winning mark he is well drawn here although it's debatable if he's in the form to use the advantage.
Haydock winner on his penultimate start over 5f after a couple of decent placed efforts off slightly lower marks. Looked unlucky last time out at Chester off a 5lb higher mark when hampered in the closing stages and runs off the same mark here although stall 15 reduces his chance.
Has been working his way into form this year and has run some sound races (poorly drawn once) and just 2lb above his last winning mark. Likes to go from the front so may be able to get a good position even from a wide draw.
His first two races of the year showed real promise although they were both over 6f and he may well be better at that trip than the 5f he races over here. Should be competitive off this mark but may find one or two a little too sharp over this trip.
Out-and-out front runner who is well drawn to attack here although he's been well below form on his last two starts on turf and AW. Is a C&D winner but those last two runs haven't inspired and this mark on turf looks to have him under control.
Been very active this year with 14 runs already under his belt and gained two wins at Pontefract back-to-back (prominently ridden both times). Not quite in the same form since although did a better at Sandown last time and well drawn here for one that likes to jump and run.
The second of two representatives from this yard he returned to form last time out at Ripon over 5f taking advantage of a drop in the weights and a breathing operation. Travelled well and won despite a troubled passage he's not been one to trust in the past and it remains to be seen if he can back that up.
Looked unsuited by the drop to 5f last time out in a first-time visor and overall is showing very little sign of being able to take advantage of his lower turf mark.
C&D winner who has been slightly more fortunate with the draw that he was when running fourth at York last time where he shaped as if he was back in form. Did best of those drawn high and while he should run a sound enough race here he's not the easiest to catch on song.
Prior to his last run had looked as if he was coming back to form as he disappointed in a race at Ayr that he was attempting to win for the third time. Ridden much closer to the pace than usual he didn't appear to enjoy the experience and expected to revert to more patient tactics here.
Maiden winner at Ripon last year on a quick surface over 6f he finished last on his handicap debut this year and now drops down to 5f for the first time.

A big field and it’s hard not to think that the draw will play a part here with this in double-figure stalls looking to have a tough task based on the evidence of past big-field sprints here. Quite a few of the fancied ones are drawn high such as Signore Piccolo and Stanghow and that will make life difficult for this in-form duo. It may be best to concentrate on those therefore drawn low with Lexington Place not looking out of this and neither would First Bombardment who can be a little difficult to catch right. Oriental Relation is well drawn for one who likes to jump and run but a chance is taken that TARBOOSH can again take advantage of his mark and wind operation to back up his win last time out for the Midgley stable that do so well with their sprint handicappers.
- Tarboosh
- Oriental Relation
- First Bombardment
