Has been rattling off the wins in Open point-to-point company last season and finished it off with a solid second to the useful Dabinett Moon at Stratford (looked the winner, ran out of it late). Stays and acts well on quick ground, so every chance back in handicap company.
First run for new yard (formerly with Niall Madden) and hardly looks well handicapped on recent efforts. Last win (at Sligo, 2015) came over 2m1f and best efforts over shorter, so plenty to prove here.
Form is patchy to say the least, and tends to follow a good run with a bad one. Easy winner under similar conditions to today's at Fontwell in May but 11lb higher here and needs to bounce back from another poor effort when last seen. Others hold stronger claims.
Twice a winner in point-to-points last season and finished a creditable third on handicap debut here in early June, although was never in the hunt for the win. Quicker ground here may help, and stays well, so not discounted.
Has turned in some very impressive performances lately, winning with any amount in hand at Ffos Las last time after a superb display of bold front running. Jumped superbly there and although up 17lb for that, no saying that's going to stop him in current frame of mind.
Has ability, but going days becoming harder to predict and gave up the ghost pretty quickly at Worcester last time, Unlikely to get own way up front here and handicapper only now cutting him some slack. Others hold stronger claims.
Stays well enough and acts on a variety of ground, but just the one win in 31 starts rather tells it's own story. Decent enough effort last time out but this is tougher, and looks an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Fort Gabriel (6/4), Patricktom Boru (3/1), Badgerfort (9/2), Royals And Rebels (7/1), Railway Storm (10/1), Best Boy Barney (12/1), Beuvron (14/1)
The safest option here looks to be FORT GABRIEL, who has been dancing them dizzy with some tremendous front-running displays recently. His opponents find it such hard work to keep up when he's in such a rhythm, and despite another clobbering in the weights, can go in again. Beuvron would be a danger if building on his latest effort and can take the silver ahead of Patricktom Boru .
