Both times he has made the frame he has won his race, those being this season at Redcar (1m1f, good to firm) and here over C&D (good to firm) last time. Now 9lb higher for that 6L success and stepped up in grade, he looks capable of having a big say over a trip that he seems most effective at. Would have a bit to prove if ground gets softer.
Sole success was over this trip in a Lingfield maiden (AW) in the winter. Went close in a Nottingham handicap (1m2f, soft) from 2lb lower in May and after two hefty defeats, she looked like she was on her way back over this trip at Windsor last time. However, does need to find more.
Is putting together a nice, improving profile and broke his maiden at Redcar (1m, good) in April. Has already gone well here over that trip since then, while he put up a similar effort on faster ground at Newmarket last time. Same mark today, so should be competitive and slightly slower conditions are, if anything, a positive.
Scored on debut at Redcar (7f, good to soft) in November and has been there or thereabouts in four handicaps since. Went well over C&D (soft) last time when beaten just 1L, though up 2lb for this and more will be needed. Cheek pieces added and can go well.
Won a Carlisle maiden (7f, good to soft) this time last year but was overloaded with weight in two nurseries at the back end of the campaign. Returns after over seven months off for this, stepped up in trip and with a helpful 5lb drop. Will be interesting to see what market confidence there is in her as a result.
The winner of a 7½f median auction contest (good to firm) at Beverley on his second start back in September. Has run with credit and some consistency in most of his five subsequent handicaps at up to 1m4f and was beaten just over 1L over 1m2½f at Chester (good to soft) last time from today's mark. Very competitive.
Beaten just ½L on his debut in a Wolverhampton maiden last month and went one better last week when winning a three-runner Newmarket maiden (1m2f, good to firm). Could have got in a little under the radar for his handicap debut here and would not need much improvement to have a major say.
0-6 so far, though did go close to breaking his duck at Nottingham over this trip on good ground in May. Couldn't handle a 3lb rise and step up in grade last time and will need to find more to get back on terms in a competitive heat.

Forecasts
Teodoro (3/1), Carigrad (3/1), Yaarmen (7/2), Je Suis Charlie (5/1), Pirate Look (7/1), Flight Of Fantasy (10/1), Lunar Jet (12/1), Ghayyar (12/1), Plead (20/1), Riviere Argentee (50/1)
Plenty in this have some sort of claim, with impressive C&D winner Teodoro short-list material despite a 9lb rise and Ghayyar more interesting now dropped to this grade. Je Suis Charlie is another who can get competitive, while Carigrad and Pirate Look are others with the ability to have a say. However, completely unexposed is recent Newmarket maiden winner YAARMEN, who has made a good start to his career and might just have sneaked in here with a pound or two in hand. He is the suggestion.
- Yaarmen
- Teodoro
