Has made steady improvement in three maidens over 7f-1m, his best effort coming last time at Doncaster (good to soft). If that upward curve continues here then he has claims today.

Beaten 11½L when 11th of 13 on debut at Newcastle (7f, AW) last week. Now switches to turf with a step up in trip. Will need to come on a fair bit for that to take a hand, though couldn't rule that out entirely.

A combination of soft ground and 1m1f, plus inexperience, meant that he was beaten over 7L on debut at Hamilton last week. Stable's newcomers often come on a fair bit for their first run and it is interesting that he is dropped in trip this time, which is slightly at odds with his pedigree. Market check suggested as improvement would be no surprise.

Put in a couple of reasonable efforts in two maidens as a juvenile and returns after a lengthy break /being gelded. Pedigree much more about middle distances than this trip, but top yard could have brought him on a fair bit since his last outing and a market check is suggested.

Showed a bit of improvement on last season's solitary outing when returning to be runner-up at Newcastle (1m, AW) in March. Even so, she was beaten 4L as the favourite there. Has again been given time between runs and may benefit from that. Should be capable of getting competitive.

Forecasts

Multicultural (11/8), Reverend Jacobs (9/4), Getna (4/1), Azaly (9/2), Grey Diamond (22/1), Dream Ballad (25/1)

Verdict

It is not difficult to envisage several of these proving good enough today, which makes this a little bit tricky. The suggestion is to side with MULTICULTURAL, who is being brought along steadily and we may see that bear fruit today. Getna is more exposed than the rest of them, but if the blinkers give her an edge then she is a potential winner, while Azaly is building steadily and should again go well. Grey Diamond could improve plenty for his debut, while Reverend Jacobs was also shaping reasonably well last year. A market check is advised for him, as this could just be a final outing before he turns to handicaps.
  1. Multicultural
  2. Azaly
  3. Getna
