Chelmsford City Supporting Racing Staff Week Handicap

Had come tumbling down the weights prior to scoring at Lingfield in May. Has struggled off higher marks since, but the handicapper is starting to relent again and he is not dismissed.

Seems more effective on AW than turf, but won on the grass at Lingfield a couple of starts ago before finishing a creditable second at Brighton. Not so good last time, but the return to the AW should suit.

Only win on the AW came at this track over 6f in March. Has joined a new stable since that success and was second on his debut for the yard at Newcastle before finishing down the field at Goodwood. May need some help from the handicapper.

Two third placings from as many starts on the AW, running particularly well when a close third at Lingfield two starts ago. Has been dropped 1lb and is worthy of consideration.

Never ran as a juvenile, but fair degree of promise at three, winning a maiden at Newcastle. Only outing this season saw him finish last of seven at Musselburgh, but he ran as though the outing was needed, is likely to be much sharper and has the champion jockey on board.

Consistent sprinter who ran a solid race to be second of six over C&D on his last appearance. Runs off the same mark and has to enter calculations.

Seven-time winner on the AW and bounced back to form last time when a decisive winner of a C&D handicap. Has gone up 4lb, but is in good heart and looks a leading contender.

Recent efforts on turf have not been fruitful so this return to the AW is well worth a try. Interesting jockey booking and certainly worth monitoring in the betting.

Lightly raced compared to some of his rivals, and finished second of 14 at Newcastle last time on his second start for his current trainer. Drop back in trip not a problem and same jockey as last time on board.

Won twice for Rae Guest, but still to get off the mark for her current stable after five attempts. Has been running over farther and this drop in trip might produce some improvement.
