Can be a little in-and-out with his form but looks a threat in this grade based on some of his handicap form. Comes here off the back of a handicap in which he ran poorly but would be no surprise to see him perform better here.
Winner of a Redcar claimer last time out he makes his first start for a new yard here having left Tony Coyle. That win came in first-time cheekpieces and those are retained here in a grade that he is capable of winning in.
Likes this course having won five times here but not the force that he once was although he's hard to discount at his favourite venue. Well beaten on his last two starts though in handicaps off lowly marks and now approaching the veteran stage with others preferred.
Can sometimes look a little feint hearted under pressure (traded at short prices a few times now) but does travel well in his races. His last run is actually better than it looks on paper but that weak finishing effort is a worry to his chance.
Winner of this in 2015 he's shown some respectable form in handicaps since then and wasn't beaten that far last time in a handicap here over further. His record around here makes him worthy of respect but he's not getting any younger.
His fourth in a Redcar claimer last time out reads as his best piece of form this year but he does have work to do with Nonno Giulio on that run. Possibly better than that run and worth watching in the market.
Most of his form as it is has come over shorter trips and the losing run is starting to look a long one now. Can't really be described as one of the leading candidates over a trip like this which looks too far.
Can hardly be said to have been in form when last seen and beaten at this level when tried in it before. Best watched here on her return to action after a long absence.
Poor maiden who was well held in a Catterick seller last time over 6f finishing last and hard to see her getting involved here.
Forecasts
Chiswick Bey (5/2), Iberica Road (7/2), Faintly (7/2), Nonno Giulio (9/2), Italian Beauty (10/1), I'm Super Too (11/1), Mercers Row (25/1), Zebedee Star (50/1), Eeny Mac (50/1)
Not a bad contest for the grade with a few of these probably still capable of winning in handicaps. Faintly looks the type to travel well in the race but he often doesn’t find much and this stiff finish may well find him out. Iberica Road needs to reverse form with Nonno Giulio but that’s not impossible and both those protagonists are in with a chance here. CHISWICK BEY is probably the one with the strongest form though in handicaps and dropped in grade he can bounce back to his best here.
- Chiswick Bey
- Iberica Road
- Nonno Giulio
