Not the most consistent, but does have a win and a second from previous four starts. This trip is an unknown factor.
First Flat run since joining Elliott team, interesting to note in the betting given there have been some good signs this year over hurdles and he's one of three from the yard. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Below previous winning mark on the Flat, tame effort in trio of maiden hurdles in January after joining leading jumps trainer. One of three for the yard in this contest with market to be informative.
Couple of minor hurdles win since return from almost 300 days off. Did it with consummate ease and commands respect now back on the Flat as such. One to look out for in the betting.
Easy winner over 1m5f at Ballinrobe nine days ago, claimer negates a large chunk of the hike he received for that win and so repeat chances are clear.
Without a win in eight starts on the Flat, this handicap mark looks a bit stuff based on last month's 8L defat at Leopardstown over 1m5f. That was off a break, so there could be more to come but yard are quiet at the moment.
Ran pair of decent races after joining this trainer last month at Limerick and the Curragh over this sort of trip. Runs off the same rating here, one of three for leading jumps yard in the race.
Trainer is respected with his Flat runners but this one was a beaten favourite last week at Leopardstown over 1m7f and races off the same mark here with questions to answer.
In cracking form of late and can be forgiven substandard finish at Fairyhouse (1m4f) recently give a stumble at crucial stage. Previous run at Leopardstown (1m5f) showed he is competitive off this rating.
One win from ten starts and that came in a claimer at Gowran. First two start for new yard showed she hadn't improved for the switch and very hard to make case for at these weights now.
Forecasts
Song Of Namibia (10/3), Miro (4/1), Wood Breizh (11/2), Bottleofsmoke (6/1), Easy Pass (7/1), Synopsis (8/1), Enzani (11/1), Byron Beauty (12/1), Vanishing Point (25/1), Vitalized (50/1)
An open contest and last year's winning trainer looks to hold solid claims again with Byron Beauty who did the job well last time and has penalty trimmed nicely by his claiming rider here, they ought to go well. With a trio of runners from Cullentra, the betting should be very informative in ranking the Elliott contenders. Miro has run well twice on the Flat recently while Synopsis could leave winter hurdles form behind. SONG OF NAMIBIA has been in rattling good form of late and, provided stamina isn’t a problem, can make it two wins in just five starts for this trainer. Enzani, twice a winner over hurdles recently, is very much respected back on the Flat.
- Song Of Namibia
- Enzani
- Byron Beauty
