Won on his debut at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) in August but raced too keenly when well beaten when returning fresh at the same venue (1m, good to firm) in May. That should have taken some of the fizz out of him and he looks capable of doing better than that.
Scored over C&D (firm) in May from 15lb lower and went close back here over 1m2f next time. Continued to show improvement last time at Goodwood, when the first two were 7L clear. Up another 6lb for that and also in grade, but looks like he is going places on recent evidence and has to be taken very seriously.
After several near misses, he got off the mark at Windsor (1m, soft) last time. Given that his previous best efforts were also with cut in the ground, there are concerns over his ability to handle this much quicker surface and a 7lb rise combined with the ground could ask much more serious questions.
Won a Ripon maiden (1m, good to firm) in April before coming up short in Listed company. Beaten 3L from this mark when making the frame on his handicap debut at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) last time out and now in a better race, he is going to need improvement.
Newcastle maiden winner (1m, AW) who has been well beaten in two handicaps at Doncaster (1m, heavy) and Newmarket (7f, good) on his last two starts. Dropped 3lb going into this, as well as in grade, and should be able to finish closer to the action.
Came good at the eighth attempt last time out at Pontefract (1m, good to firm), when the front pair were 7L clear of the short-priced favourite. Carries a 6lb penalty for that and remains unexposed, so hard to argue that she can't go a fair way towards bridging the gap. Very much respected.
Forecasts
I'vegotthepower (5/2), Fujaira Bridge (3/1), Pillar Of Society (5/1), Pattie (5/1), Seniority (11/2), Ahlan Bil Zain (8/1)
Seniority should be capable of getting more competitive again now back on faster ground and after perhaps being a little 'fizzy' on his return, while Pattie should go close once again under her penalty. There have to be doubts about Pillar Of Society on this fast ground and preference is for I'VEGOTTHEPOWER, who is enjoying a meteoric rise in the ranks this season and might just be good enough to maintain that upward curve after another 6lb rise.
- I'vegotthepower
- Pattie
- Seniority
