Broke a long losing run when winning here over 5f (trying the trip for the first time) bouncing back from a poor run to take advantage of a reduced mark. Managed to follow-up at Chepstow off the same mark (no penalty for winning) and clearly in his best form for a while. Both wins came on ground with plenty of give and with a top amateur booked off a 5lb higher mark he's clearly of interest here.
Has so far failed to follow up his Redcar handicap win of last year off a mark of 60 this year and has on occasions looked an awkward ride especially once without his usual hood. Looks to have the ability to win a race such as this but it's possible that this mark is a little high and needs some help from the handicapper.
Her last win came back in 2014 in a York handicap off a mark of 81 so it's been a fall from grace since then especially as she ran in a Group3 and Listed contests after that. Starting to arrest the slide in form this year and ran well at Carlisle last time finishing fourth to an improving sort. Now off a mark of 65 and with a tongue-tie on again she may well be able to get involved here.
All his best form has come over straight tracks so he should be at home here and comes into this on the back of two good runs at Carlisle winning the first one and finishing a very creditable third last time. Versatile as to trip with a very competent amateur booked and off a mark he's won off before he remains of interest here.
C&D winner last year in testing conditions off a 1lb lower mark he's struggled for form this year and hasn't beaten an opponent home this year. Given his current form he can only be watched for now.
Was a recent first runner/winner for the trainer at the track following up his Redcar handicap win (6f) off a basement mark off a 3lb higher mark (both wins under today's rider). That wasn't the strongest event but we do know that he likes the track, trip and rider although he does have to prove that he can cope with a mark this high.
Sister to a couple of winners who have both scored for this yard and were useful but she has yet to show she can match their efforts. Well beaten in three maidens so far at up to 1m1f on a variety of ground she needs to show more here on her handicap debut.
Forecasts
Kinglami (3/1), Concur (3/1), Exotic Guest (4/1), El Principe (4/1), Willbeme (7/1), Molecule (9/1), Reflation (66/1)
The market is almost bound to latch onto Kinglami here who has won his last two and is ridden by Simon Walker a booking that invariably crushes the price. Exotic Guest enjoys a straight track and must be respected given his recent form and Concur and El Principe also have their plus points. However given all of that it could be worth taking a chance with WILLBEME who now runs off a mark she really ought to be winning off and showed that she retains her ability or some of it recently.
- Willbeme
- Kinglami
- Exotic Guest
