Out of form in this sphere on the AW of late but running well prior to falling three out on his hurdling debut at Fakenham last time. Making his first Flat turf appearance since winning over 6f on good-to-firm ground here last September.
Course winner over 1m on good-to-firm ground off a 13lb lower mark nearly a year ago. Best effort this season came when beaten a neck in a valuable 1m handicap at Newbury (soft) last month and interesting despite a 3lb rise.
Placed on six of his last seven starts including when runner-up over 7f at Redcar (good-to-firm) last weekend. Races off the same mark today and likely to run well if handling the softer surface he's forecast to encounter here.
Finished 2L third over 7f at Newmarket (good-to-soft) last month but disappointing subsequently at Catterick (soft). Doubts remain on the soft ground forecast today.
Broke his maiden over 7f at Newmarket (good-to-soft) in October 2015 and missed the 2016 season. Failed to beat a rival home in two starts so far this year and this drop back to 1m looks likely to suit.
Debut winner at Haydock in June 2014 but failed to win having joined Clive Cox last year. Well held on debut for latest stable at Windsor early last month but put in an improved effort when finishing third over 1m here last time.
Forecasts
Brigliadoro (13/8), Horsted Keynes (5/2), Baron Bolt (9/2), Archie (7/1), Mootaharer (9/1), Basil Berry (20/1)
A chance is taken on the well bred MOOTAHARER returning to form dropping in trip and returning to a softer surface here. The selection broke his maiden on good-to-soft ground at two and didn't appear to stay the trip when finishing well beaten over further last time. Brigliadoro ran well last time out in a valuable contest and can claim second place off a 3lb higher mark here while the consistent Horsted Keynes can follow up his second last week by claiming third today.
- Mootaharer
- Brigliadoro
- Horsted Keynes
